They adverstised it on their show last week.

Not a bad fight and always nice to see an effort made in reducing the amount of claims to WBO/IBF titles. :TU:

First heavyweight title fight that has excited me since Klitchsko v Williams.

Should Wlad prevail here, he cements his claim as top dog, but there's still other fights that need to be made.

about time that we got heavyweight coverage.

I think there's going to be big money now that the unifications are starting. Hope Ibragimov causes the upset. Can only be good for the sport that the meaningful fights from the top (as in top weight) are being made.

So things are happening with champs vs champs, and there's Povetkin who's shown some excellent development in the last 3 fights.

Eh??

He picks the weakest of the belt holders & the foregone conclusion of bludgeoning him makes him official top dog? Wtf!!

Ibragimov boxed to a draw with Ray Austin. Hardly Chagaev, is he?

Sultans getting KO'ed early. No HW champ should be worried about the current Holyfield coming forward.

Klitschko ain't no top dog either. He just looks strong against weaker HW's. No top dog would of excessively hold onto Chris Byrd who can't crack an egg.

Their all crap and unification fights don't change that fact. Klitschko is the best of a bad bunch.

Klitchsko needs to unify all the beans to be official top dog, but this fight will certainly help.

Indeed..

Ibramigov is a Solid HW... but Vlad is the Favorite. Period.

Vlad is the Favorite against any of the Belt Holders, if he wants to be "Top Dog". He has to have all the Belts IMO

I don't think he was scared of Byrd, it was more a tactic to wear down the much smaller man.

He didnt hold on to byrd, he knocked him clean out!! manuel steward says Klitschko is beter than Lewis and he trained both, Theres some very good heavyweights like povetkin and the klitschkos etc who would be champs in ANY era, your big hero Lewis retired rather than get pasted by Vitali. You guys are obsessed with big black yanks, the white east europeans have taken over, all the US olympians etc destroyed. Get over it.

Every time Byrd got close, Wlad held him like small child yet only Ruiz got criticised for this and Ruiz has stopped the excessive holding lately. I was talking about before the KO.

Wlad ain't the proven best yet, there are styles In the top 10 that will make him troubled. Vitali was better but Vitali was cherry picking too much and got away with It because he was too brave against Lewis.

Sorry but Lewis would spark Wlad In 5 or less. Lewis has Inside fighting at least and could throw more than straight shots and was much quicker on the jab and footwork.

Vitali was about to get Ko'ed In the next round but the doctor had mercy. If It wasn't for the doctor then Lewis could blinded Vitali If that cut was opened up anymore due to the optical nerves being exposed.

Povetkin's overated, he has a high workrate but If Chambers could crack and didn't fight In spurts he could of won.

That said though Ibragimov will be beat early I reckon, he doesn't like fighters coming forward judging off the Holyfarce fight.

It was softcore erotica, the Klitschko's look very erotic, have you seen them pose naked together! :o

I would never post with my bros. :o

Max, even your paramour allegedly thinks Povetkin is the bees knees. Check out his recent column.

Povetkin is hardly "overrated". He is small for a heavyweight which is the only knock against him, given that the massive Wlad is champion (of the IBF at least).

Povetkin has developed in a far more satisfying way than anyone else who's 15-0 right now. He's dealing with different things and improving with every fight - especially after that spirited affair with Chambers. Chambers was tricky and a quality boxer, and Povetkin's combination of sheer drive and nice skills made sure he was the winner.

I've seen prime Evander Holyfield struggle plenty before he won the heavyweight titles from Buster Douglas. Alex Stewart and Adilson Rodriquez couldn't miss his noggin, yet Holyfield wound up a memorable champion and went competitive with quality giants Lewis and Bowe.

Reckon Povetkin will keep getting better and better and be the main champ after he meets the winner of the unification(s).

Povetkin is on of those rarities in modern heavyweights

He can throw combinations, he has good footwork, he has a stout chin, and can fight at a hard pace for 12 rounds.

In the history of the heavyweigt divsion, that alone has normally been enough to take you near the top, if no to the top.

absolutely.

in fact, Povetkin's probably better than he's looked in the last 3 fights, because those opponents - Donald, Byrd and Chambers - are the hardest to look good against in the whole division.

My paramour? You retards see someone agree with some points on his fighters or him and you accuse anyone of being a FW cheerleader. But knowing It;s you, you become a sissie when someone doubts someone you think highly of.

6ft 2 and 220 odd pounds Is not small.

Povetkin has workrate but Is easy to hit. Byrd and Donald came at the right time and Byrd can't crack a slapper and Donald took a year off after being jobbed against Valuev.

Klitschko won't miss with those heavy straights as Pov tries to walk forward trying to outwork him resulting In Klit hugging him Ruiz style.

As for Holyfield he lost to the best HW's In his prime.

Povetkin is so open to the right cross. WK will take him comfortably. I'd actually take Haye to beat him right now.

Lets hope Solis progresses wekk, there is no-one else other than him and Haye in the wings.

Povetkin is doing excellently, winning those tricky fights in like his 13th, 14th and 15th pro fights. What British fighter has had such a learning curve? You think the likes of Gary Lockett, Alex Arthur and co looking for vacated WBO straps compare?

Povetkin was always going to GET HIT by the slick Chambers, who stalks up to opponents, has a tight guard and who has surprising cruiserweight speed. Appreciate what Povetkin did to carve out the win and how he's going to improve from it.

So Povetkin is smaller than ONE of the champions, Klitschko. Klitschko is big and throws a straight punch so I guess that makes him unbeatable. Look at some other things: Wlad is nothing but a well co-ordinated 1-2 fighter, and has nowhere near Povetkin's variety. Wlad has collapsed from fighting at any kind of pace, wheres Povetkin pushes his opponents to their limits and breaks their hearts a bit.

Povetkin can find a game plan to close the distance - he certainly has a nice array of feints, that can make an opponent mis-read him - and force his fight. I honestly can't see Wlad having a clue during rds 6-12. Yes, Povetkin is at risk of some huge fire early on, but boxing is about coming up with a game plan and Wlad can be figured out.

Methinks Povetkin's combination of WILL and SKILL will make him a champion, and a special one at that.
