I would rather be a "trainspotter" anyway, I need this site as I do struggle to talk boxing with someone whose limits are Calzaghe, Hatton and Khan.
I have one friend who I can talk about boxing with fully and he posts on here, and one or two who go slightly beyond the mainstream stuff but that is it.

What annoys me is when some of the 'insiders' on here get all snotty when we comment on matters that we should apparently leave to them - mismatches, conduct of stewards at fights, etc etc. We all know who they are.
They should also remember who ultimately funds the sport they try to run as a business.
I think most within the sport do. It concerns them, getting a feel for what the fans are saying must inspire a few articles here and there otherwise how would they know what the real fans want? It's all research.
It annoys me too. Everyone has an opinion and whether we have ever met so and so is irrelevant. If I have viewed a fighter I can say what I think is good or bad about him, regardless if i'm wrong or not.
I hate boxing the business. Love boxing the sport.
I've been told by someone else that posts on here that most people in the sport read it, and to be careful.
I have too much of a big mouth, so chances are it'll fck up some chances of me getting interviews with fighters. At least I'm honest, I s'pose.

Easier to shut people out than accept their criticism
I haven't been posting here that long but I don't feel it makes me a geek. I am a geek, but this isn't the reason why...
To me it's about the only place I can talk boxing with people that follow the sport. It's not like football where you can chat about it with all your mates at the pub. Personally I find many of the football fan callers to TalkSport & the local '3 Legends' phone in to be a bit sad (my club's bigger than your club - who gives a fuk, show me your trophies...), I guess it just seems more so when the medium is the internet.
I think it all came about because this forum has, over the years, tended to be a bit more grown-up than the likes of Doghouse, Eastside etc. If not calling everyone a goat blowing fag makes you a trainspotter, bring on the 12:27 from Paddington.
