I am far from sold on these fighter-run promotional outfits to be honest - they serve their purpose whilst the fighter is active (giving the draw card fighter a bigger slice of the pie) but how many last after the figure head fighter's retirement date?Spud wrote:Yep you got that one in one - my personal opinion is that it will be Punch Promotions.tyson wrote:Both Frankie Gavin and team mate Joe Murray are represented by Hattons lawyer Gareth Williams and both look like signing to the same promotional company.
Lennox had Lion Promotions, Naz had Prince Promotions, Klitschkos have K2, Roy Jones has Square Ring Inc - how many of these have gone on to become successful promtional outfits with interests above and beyond their figurehead fighter?
Golden Boy is the exception that proves the rule in my eyes.
Will Punch Promotions extend much beyond the ring life of Ricky Hatton? I am dubious to say the least.
I would like to see Gavin's career guided by a team with more experience in developing fighers to be honest.
