Yeah I see your concerns. Hopefully things get better when the title shot/vacant title fight comes.

I can't see that happening for a while, remember Freeman Barr and even if it did it would be a Witter situation(not being able to attract the big fighters as he can't generate the money)
My prediction is that FW will make JC sit on the belts, as a direct snub to Hennessy/Froch, then make Froch a big offer(financially, and guaranteed title shot), then JC will decide to vacate

Bottom line is he is the WBC no1.

Im sure Hennessy will put pressure on an Interim title being made. I dont think he is miles off a WT fight at all in fact I think within the year he will have contested for either an Interim or Vacant WBC title.

From there he can move on and be guranteed fights as he will have mandatories imposed upon him.

Being no 1 contender only means something if it it suits the major promoters, as I said remember Freeman Barr.
I can see FW freezing himout to make a point to Hennessy.
Hennessy has been putting pressure on for years without any impact.
As I said even if he did get hold f an interim belt, look at the Witter situation
I'm sure the WBC will give Calzaghe(FW) as much leniency as they want, while he looks for super fights at l/heavy, s/middle

If one looks at the quality of the fighters Carl has taken on they stand up against other fighters at the stage of his carrer weather they have titles or not, CHarles Adamu, Mathew Barny, Brian McGee, Dodson, Reid and Tatevosyan are all european class opponenets and better than half a dozen or so "world title" foe's I've seen in WBU fights.

Are the purse bids out yet?

Tatesvosyan clearly was under prepared, he was battered by Bute less than 2 months earlier than the Froch fight. Dodson and Magee were probably the freshest opponents on his resume so he's really not even gone beyond domestic class.

Fighting Adamu and then by the time he fought Reid, he's still worringly open to being put off balance to counter right hands. God thing he has a solid chin.

I think Mathew Barney was a good win for him as well, remembering Barny had come off what should have been a win in Germany at the weight above in a European title fight and froch allegedly [had a bad hand at the time.

Yeah Barney was a decent win, shame Barney didn't come to win though, he just avoided getting hit all night.

Hopefully it doesn't get all held up. I don't know what Warren's relation with the WBC is like. Probably not like his relation with the WBO. He's not promoted many WBC title fights of recent, Jose Sulaiman said last year that Kessler would beat Calzaghe no problem (a bit cheeky, dismissive even), and the WBC will hopefulyl realise they're not going to make any sanctioning fees from Joe.

Joe's just said he's going to fight Jones at light heavy as his last fight, so who knows, the WBC belt might get vacated sooner than later. In an ideal world.

In an ideal world, Froch is good enough and he deserves a shot, but this is boxig and his progress has been severely hampered by being with a small time promoter
