....and then he gets back up.....and over the next over two dozen rounds with this opponent he dominates him. Right up to the point where he forces him out of the final act of the game. Frazier wins this moment in their battle....and Ali wins the war.

These are the facts gran. But your keen eye for this part of history is appreciated. I think the world of Joe Frazier as well.

BoxBuzz, why don't you simply put Granberry on your "foes" list? Then you won't have to read his posts. I mean, if people keep putting him on their "foes" list, he'll have no reason to post here, since no one will read anything he writes.

BigBadJane belongs to the women's club who demand that no photos of their Ali be allowed

other than those approved by Thomas Hauser, Larry Merchant, and Joyce Carol Oates.

BidBadJane is beside himself at the idea that a photo like THIS is posted.

DON'T look at it it, John.

The first pic was taken after Ali lost to Norton, not Frazier.

I have a better solution...I just disabled the image feature.

Why not let it all out? Everything you want to say about Ali: put it in this thread. Then we can all read your opinions and make up our minds. Some will agree with you other disagree. Some will accept some of your points and reject others.

Expunge yourself of this bile and then we can all get on with talking about other aspects of boxing, soemthing you often do very well...

The photographs without context make no sense at all...You're in the U K so maybe it doesn't make sense but his photograph is as revealing as Ben Wallace blocking Shaquille O'Neal, Willie Mays striking out, Michael Jordan shooting an air ball, or Tiger Woods shanking a golf ball...

Every unbiased fan, historian, analyst, boxer, and former boxer recognizes Ali as the consummate winner in the ring...He's on all their top ten lists...The only argument is to where...

George Chuvalo: It was a phony. [commenting to the Liston-Ali II fake]

Nat Fleischer: Clay an all-time top 10? Definitely No. [RING magazine Sept 1971]

Jimmy Cannon: It wouldn't have broken an egg.[referring to the 'punch' in the Liston-Ali II fake]

That's just for starters.

I'll tell my boxing friends to take a glance at this thread

to view the Ali sycophants coming out of the woodwork and displaying their agony.

Funny as hell.

Writhe in agony, sycophants.

Remember: ONLY Thomas Hauser and Larry Merchant are allowed to comment on Ali.

Anything else is BLASPHEMY.

Would your imaginery boxing friends be impressed if they saw the threads where you claimed that a southpaw throwing a left hook would punch himself in the face?

That was before The Thrilla In Manilla and The Rumble In The Jungle...That's like saying Shaquille O'Neal wasn't a great center in 1997 before he won four championships....Nat shot his bolt too soon...

"I'm going to meet God and I'm going to tell him you're my friend."

Muhammad Ali himself recalls an encounter with Jimmy, a young boy suffering from leukemia, who wanted to meet him before his epic fight with George Foreman in 1974. Before the boy left, Ali had a photograph taken of himself and Jimmy which he enlarged later and sent to the kid, with the inscription: “You’re going to beat cancer. I’m going to beat George. Love, Your friend, Muhammad Ali.”[10] Two weeks later Ali learned that Jimmy was in a hospital and not expected to live. Within three hours Ali was at the boy’s bedside.

When I walked in he was lying in his bed and I saw that his skin was as white as his sheets were.

Jimmy looked up with bright eyes and called out, “Muhammad, I knew you would come!”

I walked over to his bedside and said, “Jimmy, remember what I told you? I’m going to beat George Foreman and you’re going to beat cancer.”

Jimmy looked up at me and whispered, “No, Muhammad. I’m going to meet God, and I’m going to tell him that you are my friend.”

The room was silent and we were in tears. I hugged Jimmy good-bye and later that night when we returned to my training camp, none of us spoke much.[11]

A week later the boy died, and the father invited Ali to the funeral. Unable to attend, he sent Gene, his assistant. “When Gene returned from the funeral, he told [Ali] that there had been an open casket and that the autographed picture was beside Jimmy’s head.”[12]

Liking Ali doesn't mean you have to hate Joe...But, yes, Frazier took a whale of a beating in the first and third fights and it was his willingness to take those beatings that let him win the first bout and would have left him blind in the third if not for the intervention of Eddie Futch...

Ali was knocked down a whopping four times in a twenty year career and got up every time...He was only stopped once, as a thirty old year man, bereft of the skills that defined him, two years away from the game, and drawn from thyroid drugs...

Muhammad Ali is a transcendent sports figure and cultural icon evenafter almost thirty years away from htting somebody for money...

Ultimate Ali sycophant TheOne writhes and writhes in agony.

All the Ali sycophants are on display squirming here.

Hilarious.

The swallowers of every word from the great self-appointed boxing experts Thomas Hauser and David Remnick.

Here is a question for the Ali sycophants here:

WHAT qualifies Thomas Hauser to pontificate on boxing?
