Was Khan's commonwealth title on the line against Prescott? And if not has he dropped the belt? Thanks.

Frankly speaking - who gives a toss.
Prescott is from Columbia, which last time I checked wasn't from the Commonwealth, and therefore the belt shouldn't have been on the line.

I always remember when Graham Earl kept his British title despite losing to a novice Super-Featherweight from Scotland over 8 rounds.
Could never understand how that could be right?

Because it was over 8 rounds and wasn't a championship fight. Look back through history and you'll find fighters who lost non-championship fights yet still kept their titles, Lamotta and Duran spring to mind.DavidPayne wrote:I always remember when Graham Earl kept his British title despite losing to a novice Super-Featherweight from Scotland over 8 rounds.

Esham pickering lost to Sean Hughes in a non title, beat him in a for-the-belt rematch

Page 8, section 4 of subsection 2 states if blah, blah, blah then blah, blah, blah. Oh so thats why.
Re: Technical Question - is Khan still Commonwealth LW champ?
Thaxton didn't lose his British for losing to Romanov so I don't see why Khan should lose his commonwelth for losing to Prescott

He will get a World title shot at some point.BARNEYKX wrote:hardly matters do,s it, now he,s had it as far as championship bouts go anyway
As far as championship fights go, he is still the commonwealth champion so I don't see how he has had it as far as championship bouts go.
Re: Technical Question - is Khan still Commonwealth LW champ?
I think he is defending his commonwealth title in his next fight
