I decided to find out.Carbo wrote:As an aside, can somebody tell me about why Freddie Roach thinks that Nacho Beristain is "an asshole" and what he said to make Freddie say "the guy disrespected me and I don't like him."
http://www.thesweetscience.com/boxing-a ... nny-smile/Nacho Beristain did not take kindly to what he perceives to be Roach’s disrespecting De La Hoya and he took his younger counterpart to task for it Saturday.
“I’m very disappointed in Freddie Roach,’’ Beristain said. “I consider him a very good trainer but he lost his ethics. To talk about about his ex-boss is not right. Maybe of he can’t pull the trigger it’s because Roach could not exploit his talent?’’
As Beristain’s words in Spanish were translated, Roach appeared to get more than a little agitated at what Beristain had to say. Twice he hollered to him, waving his arm in a dismissive gesture. It was the kind of momentary flare up of emotion one was supposed to see after a week spent too often seeing someone you will soon be trying to punch in the lip.
This is the unedited version of the interviewCarbo wrote: As an aside, can somebody tell me about why Freddie Roach thinks that Nacho Beristain is "an asshole" and what he said to make Freddie say "the guy disrespected me and I don't like him."

Roach KNOWS Pacman will pay him no matter what, so this "Don't pay me" game is bull.
How do you know Pacman is like that?search wrote:Regardless, Roach knows that Pacman is not the type of person who will pay him nothing if they lose so his comment, even if he means it, doesn't hold any true weight because he knows he is going to get paid anyway. I think you are wrong, apparently Roach had at one time given his time for free in the past re: Pacman and others.
I am sure he gave away $1M at one time. I believe Roach. Do not forget - he has a bigger daily battle then money and he said himself he lives simple life. I think he lives above his gym despite being a Millionaire.
Sky will be showing 24/7 I am sure but for those without Sky you can watch the shows on the HBO website - happy days..DG. wrote:How bloody fake is Oscar?

Sparring partner is definitely part of it, as a 5'7" southpaw.TerribleTerry wrote:Just watched the first episode on HBO's web site - nice to see grizzled vet Daniel Zaragoza in Oscar's camp. I wonder what his role is?

A 51 year old sparring partner who hasnt boxed pro in over ten years is hardly the right kind of opponent to sharpen your tools against.
I know Oscar like the odds stacked in his favour where he can get them, back that is just taking the piss!!
