Graham done a good job as editor of BN in the 70s....... I'm afraid Boxing News had been going down hill since the passing of Harry Mullan.
Graham Houston is the best. He's not normal (Malcolm Meredith once said he would report on a fight between two dogs), but he's still the best.
Houston used to do the American for bn in the 80s when Harry Mullan was editor.... Houston could portray the atmosphere of a fight even in a single paragraph. When Houston was editor in the early to late 70s the BN used to be stacked with interesting articles on the greats of the time like Duran, Cuevas, Napoles etc... while also having many articles on the greats of the past. Todays paper seems so much more unweildy compared to the earlier versions yet seems also to hold much less in actual substance. I don't want to knock BN too much but feel that they take up too much room with their big tabliod like headings etc.......... all in all it's become far too much like a tabliod newspaper...... recent stories like the one calling Eamon Magee a 'neighbor from hell' (what was Claude thinking there???) and Bradys tiresome and inaccurate ramblelings are illustrative of this!.... :x :x :x  8)

Yes, it's no coincidence that BN is now owned by Scottish Media Group, who also own several tabloid newspapers. The suits do a lot of dictating.

Is that why you started another thread asking what 'hot action' people have in their collection? Bennie the porn collector....
