Given the number of pull outs for this bill, the DECENT thing would have been to reschedule for next year.boxingchat wrote:I'm here. If anyone has a better solution when every other Cruiserweight has turned the fights down then I'd like to hear it. There is not a lot you can do on a Tuesday evening. Herbie Hide was offered the fight, he received the contracts which he agreed to as did his Promoter, although hadn't signed them. He called the Board and accepted the fight and told all that would listen what he was going to do to Enzo Maccarinelli. he even contacted and assured Robert Smith, Dean Powell and Andy Ayling that he wanted this fight and was happy to get the chance. He was told to go and get a weight check and had an appointment made for him in London to have this done - Job done, or so it was thought.
However, since then no one has seen or heard from Herbie Hide...He's disappeared and his phones constantly off - Hide has well and truely hidden.
So there you have it, check every Cruiserweight in the top 15 and see if they were contacted and they will all confirm they were.
Nextt hing you'll be blaming Warren for Bank's Ankle, Cooks Flu, Fosters Car Crash and Bendalls virus....it's all down to him isn't it!
You lot need to get a grip and learn a little of what you discuss. Billy Bessey should know better too, he's supposed to be a fighter and should appreciate injuries. His comments were stupid and
prhaps if he didn't come on here and slag of Promoters he might find he would earn a decent living instead of being selected as a fall guy in prizefighter.
Hennessy has had pull out as has every promter in the Country and proably every sport in the country it's/they are a fact of life so get over it. I wonder if Manchester United get all this shot when fans turn up and Rooney or Ronaldo aren't playing after sustaining an injury. I doubt it.
Sometimes the best thing is silence, if a fight cannot be delivered - I mean even if Cook/Foster were both fit - was the satisfactory, considering Marco Antonio Barrera was being "discussed" for the next defence of the Cook vs Arthur winner. Foster is a world of difference, unless it was just awaiting the dotting of I's and crossing of t's why mention Barrera.
I am not blaming Warren for the pullouts, but I am a little bit concerned at the last minute nature of the Banks withdrawal - why wasn't he in the country? Its not like he is a joke fight he has a highly respected trainer who would know about jet lag and the like.
Yes, Hennessey, Maloney etc have had pull outs - but look what Hennessey has done on Saturday, replaced the Mutley vs O Donnell fight with a IMO more intriguing Lawton vs Gethin contest.... would Hennessey have postponed had he not delievered either Mutley vs O Donnell or Lawton vs Gethin - no he wouldn't have.... but he would have postponed had Pascal pulled out on Tuesday - as he has done in the past when it comes to the main event.
But irrespective, Henessey is not charging the arm chair fan £15.99 for this bill in which one of the main events has been completely scrapped and the other main event well has changed for the worst.
The more worrying aspect of this is what will happens with Banks now, a good dangerous boxer, will he maintain a high ranking with the WBO - will he F as likely.
