i was gonna say James 42 pounds to a l-welter is something somewhat different to 42 pounds to a cruiser......
even dysentry doesnt make you lose that much weight that quick, actually my brother had that and it does.....
We also need to differentiate between fat weight and water weight. It's nigh-impossible to lose more than around 5 lbs. of fat a week, though the amount depends on metabolism - a huge HW who weighs twice what Hatton does and has a naturally higher calorie-burn rate could lose over a lb. a day. But fat has 3500 calories per lb. and you can't lose more than your body can burn, so a pound a day would mean burning 3500 calories more than you consume in food - and you can't simply stop eating if you want to keep muscle and be able to have the energy required to train that hard (fat metabolism is very slow and if you were running on just that you'd feel very drained and sluggish.)jamesmcdonnell wrote:To put this into perspective.
You CAN lost 42 lbs in 2 weeks, it's just not very good for you. James Toney had to lost 25lbs in weight in 24 hours! Which is what happened before his big fight with Jones, toney had apparently been training like a slob, and was at any case well and truly outgrowing middleweight by that stage.
Dysentery (which can be due to any number of microbes) kills mainly through dehydration - that's why the best treatment for cholera cases is simple rehydration therapy. The body can rid itself of the microbe, but not if the person dies of dehydration first.J wrote:dysentry is the only way Ive heard of as I said.

My brother being a macho individual said yeah (im not quite sure what he expected the log flume at alton towers?), he says it was closest to death he ever came, ended up sucking in half the zambeze river and all the nice things in it.
Got ameobic dysentry and basically sprayed diet coke out his arse for some time.

i dont think he stuck his finger in to do the taste test.Eric the Viking wrote:J wrote:i only say that cos my bro looked like a shrivelled prune when he came back from zambia, he went white water rafting and apparently theres like a whirlpool in the zambeze you can jump in and it pops you up down the river, called the "hellhole" funnily enough. But you're sure it was Coke and not Pepsi? Maybe that's what they needed all the cameras and diagnostic tests for - the soda companies would prefer their rival associated with projectile diarrhea, not surprisingly. ;)
