Neither Rahman nor Peter would even land trainers in Marciano's day. No cornerman would tolerate their ill-discipline in relation to their weight.

I keep forgetting that people lost the knowledge of good training when Ali retired.
Sorry guys.

With all due respect to the opinions of others, it is my opinion that this is a pointless subject.
James Toney or any other heavyweight or even those 250 pounders can claim. or their narrow fan base can claim super-heavyweight X can defeat Rocky Marciano, but it becomes a pointless claim. And, likely if any of them were on the receiving end of a Marciano power punch,
the count of ten would quickly follow. I'm sure even the uncrowned warrior Sam Langford
would be a nightmare for some jumbo-sized heavyweights of today and yesterday.

Marciano fought his title fights under 190lbs, Toney fought Jirov at 190, so thats the Toney people should bear in mind.

Facts are facts, &, rightly or wrongly, the credible trainers of the day simply wouldn't overlook Toney's appalling discipline for his talent.
He wouldn't land a respectable cornerman in the '40's or '50's.

Toney was out of shape when he fought Jirov too. Marciano has the single punch power. Toney would box Marciano's head off for 10 rds then get blasted out with the Rock's "suzie q." No one can carry a beer belly into the ring vs Marciano and win, not even Ali.
