Yeah, they were supposed to box tonight, but there was a discrepancy on the bracket. You know I'm biased  we went 7-1 tonight. Seriously, there was some good bouts. I was impressed by Ruben Ozuna over Roman Pulley at 112lbs. 14/15, Jonathan Ayala over Robert McCaskill at 139lbs. 14/15. Both Russell's look strong (106lbs. 14/15 and 80lbs. 12/13. Bryan Zamora and Xavier Crosby at 201lbs. 14/15 was a good bout. Both big guys can box well and they went at it. Zamora won.

Complete Results from tonight:

10/11 60lbs. Dwayne Holmes (MD/DC) over Carie Wilkes (Alabama) - walkover
10/11 65lbs. Marco Diaz over Treyton Oliver (Alabama) - walkover
10/11 65lbs. Jordan White (MD/DC) over Nicholas Sullivan (Virginia)
10/11 70lbs. Zimmie Dickinson (MD/DC) over Brennon Willams (Florida)
10/11 75lbs. Dshawn Streetfall (South Carolina) over Jacob Bryant (West Virginia)
10/11 80lbs. Joey Veazey (MD/DC) over Doc Robinson (Georgia)
10/11 85lbs. Teofino Lopez (Florida) over Avery Anderson (MD/DC)
12/13 70lbs. Devonte Jefferson (MD/DC) over Mikail Montgomery (Georgia)
12/13 85lbs. Aujee Tyler (MD/DC) over Antonio Vargas (Florida)
12/13 90lbs. Jalonte Cole (MD/DC) over Nathaniel King (Alabama)
12/13 90lbs. Arturo Ramirez (Florida) vs. Carlos Bernal (Georgia) - NOT RECORDED
12/13 106lbs. Erickson Lubin (Florida) over Laquan Smith (Georgia)
12/13 125lbs. Demetrius Martin (MD/DC) over Jonathan Atkins (Virginia)
14/15 95lbs. Gervonta Davis (MD/DC) over Rondarius Hunter (Georgia)
14/15 100lbs. Victor Loera (Florida) over Andres Chavez (North Carolina)
14/15 106lbs. Ricky Tomlinson (Florida) over Xavier Scott (North Carolina)
14/15 106lbs. Nicholas Torrance (Georgia) over Gary Antonio Russell (MD/DC)
14/15 125lbs. Eric Hernandez (MD/DC) over Harron Sacarras (Florida)
14/15 125lbs. Kashif El-Amin (North Carolina) over Gregory Young Jr. (Alabama)
14/15 139lbs. Justin Deloach (Georgia) over Deandre Robinson (South Carolina)
14/15 139lbs. Jonathan Ayala (Florida) over Mike Reed (MD/DC)

Now, there were a lot of good bouts, but I have to say that Antonio Russell's loss to Nick Torrance was a travesty. I don't complain or have conspiracy theories much at all, but when I put the video up - see for yourself. I know it's video, but I don't think ANYONE there thought he won that bout, NO ONE. Championships tomorrow night.

Please remember that the video only shows one point of view and can't be relied upon as 100% proof of anything.

Mel, I almost put YOUR NAME in that post because I always think of you when mentioning video, but in this case you can take a poll, video, DNA, whatever. He didn't win.

I actually did an experiment just for you at our locals. I taped from 3 sides of the ring and watched all three video and it did look like a completely different fight from each. But, if my view represents one or two judges and the video from that angle shows that a boxer outscored his opponent and none of the judges score a boxer to win - can I then complain???

We had a boxer lose 6-5, 7-6, 10-11 AND 40-32!!!!!! I'll PM you on that one Mel.

P.S. whenever I mention any video, I'm just going to say "I know, Mel." so you don't have to waste any time telling me. :D

And why didn't you? :DD

I didn't disagree with you - I just mentioned that looking at a tape really wouldn't solve anything.

Yeah! :TU:

You can complain all you want. It just won't change anything. :verysad:
We had a boxer lose 6-5, 7-6, 10-11 AND 40-32!!!!!!
Looks like you had a judge counting every punch thrown, legal or not and whether they saw it land, or not. We have several like that here, too.
P.S. whenever I mention any video, I'm just going to say "I know, Mel." so you don't have to waste any time telling me.
:DDD It's a deal!

yes, he lost. he got outworked and wasn't aggressive enough as far as throwing punches. Thanks! We've got three weeks to get ready for Missouri.

Going to be exciting. :D I'll try to post my regional Silver Gloves champions when I get the chance; a few of our main Silver Gloves guys aren't going this year because they're turning senior in the next few months; but the rest of the team should be decent I would imagine.

I've never seen so much unaddressed holding EVER. I saw holding, grabbing, headbutts and even a knee go unaddressed. There only a few really bad decisions actually - but when they were bad, they were really, really bad like Russell's semi. Pretty sure the officiating will be more solid at the nationals. We have a very solid team going to Missouri, so we'll see how we stack up against the best of the best. Zimmie is boxing well and I'll tell him what you said. He wants to be like your brother :D

Did you find that video that you were looking for?
