Another action-packed Steve Bunce's Boxing Hour is in prospect at 2pm this Thursday.
We preview the four debuts of our Beijing Olympians, hearing from Frankie Gavin and Tony Jeffries, who is the first in action on Friday night. Terry Edwards will be in the studio to speak about the four men for whom he played such a part in their amateur success.

Jeffries features on the undercard of the Rendall Munroe-Kiko Martinez rematch. Steve will speak to the Leicester southpaw Munroe and the bill's promoter Frank Maloney.

Kalle Sauerland previews our German double-header on Saturday night where European super-middleweight champion Karo Murat defends against Cristian Sanavia and former middleweight world title challenger Sebastian Sylvester fights Gaetano Nespro.

Ahead of one of the biggest fight nights of the year, we also speak to Jon Thaxton, who defends his Eurpean lightweight title against Anthony Mezaache, and Tyson Fury who fights on the same bill.

Lou DiBella will also tell us if, when and where Jermain Taylor-Carl Froch will happen.

There will also be some footage from Calzaghe Promotions' first show last weekend and more fantasy fight suggestions. Phew! Yes, it still is just an hour!

As always, plans are subject to change, we will let you know of any developments when we do.

Looking forward to (hopefully) some good news on the eternal Froch-Taylor negotiations and hopefully somat on the Haye-Wlad negotiations or Hayes next move if the Wlad fight is not gonna happen (which likes likely)

they said on the bunce hour that it was starting at 2am. at least that way it will finish earlier and we can get some sleep.

the programmes normally end around 5.30 or six but you would be better off adding time onto that if you have the space.

big mark - going off topic for a second. i saw in your introduction that you like boxing books and i read the thread about boxing books from before christmas.

i have read dark trade and the paddy and the prince.

these are the other books that i have but have not read yet that you have. has there any book that you would recommend on starting first

Mama's Boy BY Gavin Evans
this story of Lennox Lewis book gives you a real insight to the politics and problems a boxer has to cope and an excellent insight to what goes on behind the scenes.

4.war baby by Kevin Mitchell
this is the tale of the Benn - McClellan fight from the fight itself to those involved in it and gives a fantastic account of the fight and fighters.

8.Mi Vida Loca by Johnny Tapia and Bettina Gilois
the crazy life of Johnny Tapia is not best writen book but certainly is an enteraining one.

9. Irish Thunder by Bob Halloran
the Mickey Ward story surprised me and like the Tapia story is not best writen book a good read.

10. Hard Road to Glory by Johnny Nelson
another good tale of a boxer who has an up and down career.

i like all the fantasy fight stuff (even though i'm still waiting for my prize for Andries-Thompson :( ) and it was always going to get people disagreeing. i remember reading esb this time last week and it was in melt down, bloody kids

i know they were all giving out about not winning. can you imagine how hard it was on picking 8 winners from 4000 fights. i mean in all honesty there was lots of fights that could have won. it was bunceys choice.

Well I am new to Sky plus - I have manual recorded for 2-7:15... will that be enough? Will it start recording a little before 2 as it does in non manual record?

i think its fairly safe to say its on setanta 2. when you do a manuel recording it records from the exact time you say it does not add on time at the start or the end. id say that lots of time. that should take up around 15-17% space on the box.

i thought dark trade was brilliant. id be tempted to read that again as it must be 10 or 11 years since i read it. i propably have forgotten most of it. i think dark trade won sports book of the year in 1996. have you read any of thomas hauser's books or are you into him? i have a couple of his and might put them on my to read list.

i have to say as a Benn fan i found War baby very good and an easy read so would go with that. The Maloney book and Mama's boy should be read back to back to compare both sides of the story. The Ward, Tapia and Nelso books are much on much the same but are all good reads. I like my books to light as i'm not a strong reader. I am half way through Four Kings which i would recommend. what did you think of Dark trade?

I'm reading War Baby at the moment and it's very good. Worth getting

Read both War Baby and Dark Trade as part of my course. The only module I got a first on.

Understand what you’re saying about McClellen with the dog fighting and the likes but I wouldn’t go as far as to say it stopped me feeling sorry for him.

The competitions seem a pretty good way of increasing the fans interaction. The fantasy fight idea was a great one so wonder what Buncey has up his sleave now.
