Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
Brian Magee out injured, and Ryan Rhodes out with illness, card now looks like this...
Tony Quigley v Tony Dodson
John Watson v Martin Gethin
Derry Mathews v Harry Ramogoadi
Joe McNally v Graham Delehedy
George Groves v Martins Kukuls
David Price v David Ingleby
...it's a real shame that the card is not as good now, with two excellent bouts being cancelled. A wonder if Hayemaker could stick another fight on the bill? probably too late now :(

Disappointing isn't lad :(
Re: Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
I think this fight will be lost in an arena. Is it too late to switch to another venue in the city?
Re: Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
what about getting matthew hatton v ted bami moved to this bill?

Different promoter though isn't it.fatman wrote:i dunno - it just needs another fight, these 2 fight down the road on the same night
I'm wondering whether ticket sales are struggling. They have been trying to promote it really hard with loads of stuff in the Echo and on the Hayemaker website and two fights have been changed and one called off.

Its a shame, but I'm still going.
What I'd like to see if them offer a discount on tickets for when Small and Rhodes do meet, for those who already bought tickets for this show based on that fight as the headliner.
If Hayemaker are reading this- how about it? 50% off on tickets to Rhodes V Small for anyone who goes to the Echo show.

Re: Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
Ingleby as David Price's debut opponent, thats not bad.
Re: Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
Shame they couldn't get Small a fight, a defence of his Southern Area belt or something.
Re: Hayemaker - The Mersey Let Down
I believe Dodson was the headliner.whicker wrote:Yeah, me too.kevo wrote:Fuck it, i'll still be going. It's still a good bill, just not as good as the original.

The financial side of boxing isn't quite as simple as that, I'm sure there has been a huge investment into this show. However, I have forwarded your suggestion .....

Ah, Ok- but then I'm sure Rhodes V Small could be classed as the Co-Main event. The Law wrote:I believe Dodson was the headliner.whicker wrote:Yeah, me too.kevo wrote:Fuck it, i'll still be going. It's still a good bill, just not as good as the original.

Regarding your point about the financial side or boxing, that is fair enough. I understand that there was financial investment etc, which is why I wasn't suggesting a refund.
Never the less, People have bought tickets for this show, which has collapsed a bit, and as such will be feeling a bit let down. Are these people likely to buy tickets for the next Hayemaker show? Possibly not. I'd say it is sound business sense to encourage people to support the next show with deals/offers etc if needed, to restore confidence in Hayemaker Promotions.
Also- Just noticed David Ingelby is fighting THIS Friday- against a guy who is 20-0. So if he is stopped, he is off the Hayemaker Bill too.
