Thats great news !

Im all behind Froch and support the guy all the way, I just think a tenner is too much for a webstream, full stop. Therefore I won't be paying and will find it free. If they priced it at £4.99 then lots more people would buy it.

It's just about what things are worth, high quality tv pictures (plus the guaranteed reliability you 99.9% get) can justify 10-15 quid PPVs, a webstream with all the potential problems they bring, e.g. stream drop outs, your own internet connection knackering up, it just aint worth a tenner of my money, I'm a student too in final year of my degree so a tenner whilst not being earth shattering amount, I cant justify spending a tenner on a web stream.

I'm more hoping for an early morning ITV repeat tbh. The days of me staying up until 4am for any fight are over, so I just Sky+ them and watch them 'as live' over bacon sarnies when I get up the next morning. While it may be possible to record the stream to my harddrive, it's probably beyond my simple brain.

I personally lay the blame at ITV's door. They are the network who has a contract in place to screen Hennessy Sports fighters. They were the network who screened Froch's world title winning effort against Jean Pascal so I feel the onus is on them to continue to support Froch, even it means broadcasting the fight on delay the next day.

Why should SKY bail Hennessy out? They took Hennessy on when the BBC ditched Boxing and when ITV signed a deal with Warren to screen Froch's fights against the likes of Brian Magee and Tony Dodson only for Hennessy to then negotiate a deal with ITV/ITV 4. Setanta do a great job on relatively limited resources compared to the other stations and would probably want some guarantee from Hennessy that they could have exclusive rights to screen Froch's next defence if he beats Taylor which I guess Hennessy won't offer because he'd rather it be screened on ITV1 live from Nottingham.

The majority of posters who are refusing to support the online pay-per-view also makes a total mockery of the claim that Boxrec is the home of true boxing fans. I'm going to pay my money and take my chance. If the quality is poor I'll kick off afterwards but for now I'm prepared to support this venture for a tenner. I'm wondering if there may still be an outside chance of TV picking the fight up. I've registered my interest at FrochvTaylor.com but as of yet there's no way to actually sign up and pay by debit/credit card.

There will be a portal player embedded into the site when it's finalised. Im sure the payment gateway etc will be built into the screen pretty much. I am roughly informed that it will be 750k or 1mb speed.

If you have an internet connection if 1mb or less then opt for 750k and if your internet is 2mb+ go for the 1mb connection.

Here is an example of their recorded streams (std or HD button on the player) but bear in mind that it's a recording of a stream, so the live event will be much clearer and have greater bandwidth allocated.

Froch V Taylor Super Fight Live on High Quality Internet Pay Per View

Hennessy Sports have teamed up with Omnisport.tv, the home of live official sports on the internet to bring British and Irish Fight fans the opportunity to see the Carl “The Cobra” Froch – Jermain “Bad Intentions” Taylor Super fight live and exclusive online via pay per view at frochvtaylor.com.

I dont agree that the definition of a true boxing fan should be one who pays a tenner for a webstream. As people have mentioned on numerous occasions, I feel this fight isnt really PPV standard and that on top of people's subscriptions to sports channels, broadband costs etc, another tenner just adds to people's bills. there is a credit crunch on if you hadn't realised and to a lot of people extra tenners for things like this just go out the window.

I do agree totally with you that if we are gona blame any tv channels then ITV are the ones really. They have the contract with Hennessy, he is their guy, Froch is the man they should be supporting as a world champ. They could stick it on ITV4 I'm sure and get some decent enough viewing figures.

Even next day delayed coverage like you said, is better than nothing. Setanta are having money troubles and Sky like you said, they used to show Hennessy fights but why should they bail him out just on a one-off cos no-one else wants it. I think Sky and Setanta have proved with certain other fighters in the past, that if you commit to them they tend to show that commitment back and support a fighter, e.g. Haye on Setanta, Hatton on Sky, therefore so it goes that it should then fall on ITV to be 'making' Froch into a bigger star and building him up.

Yes there is a credit crunch - and for lots of people viewing this fight would not only be a £10, but a new PC, new Broadband connection for a one off viewing (I think) and no sign of the undercard being shown.
