The Irish lot always seem to go quite when their men lose, but swing from the rafters when they win.

I can't wait to hear the excuses for this one.

this was bound to happen, sooner rather than later. a rematch win for duddy and the gravy train will be rolling again. and mark, 7 exclamation points sort of negates the point of the spoiler warning! :TU:

It was always going to happen sooner or later..

Hopefully now this will see Duddy lower his expectations and persue some fights with the likes of Lee, Macklin etc.

The fight was almost at light middleweight. Billy Lyell is a light middle and weighed in at 155 lbs, and Duddy was only 157 lbs. Duddy had all the advantages.

tezza i don't think that's low enough, Macklin would hammer duddy into a new timezone entirely

Yes indeed - I had a feeling Duddy had lost after the second exclamation mark.

This was a matter of when not if...

Although there's more danger at 154 than 160.

I don't get why it's so important for him to move down 3 lbs. The guy he lost to is a light middleweight anyway.
