No but being starched in such a fashion means he didnt deserve to be in the same ring with the P4P number 1. Much like british counterparts Michael Jennings and Gary Locket in their ill fated tilts at world Glory against Elite fighters, he came up woefully short.

He was the Light Welterweight champion, of course he deserved to be in the same ring as him.

Well said!

:TU:

And Horse, by 'just as easily' - I mean he could have been kncoked out by Witter or Holt.

Hatton never fought his way into contention and when he was REALLY up agaisnt it in a fight with someone ( elite) not past it, he was ktfo -twice.

The MEN made him and that was what ultimately broke him.

He was never prepared.

And yes he did try and steal the title. Its not as if he fought SSM and/or Cotto to get the opportunity.

He fought Lazcano and PM!

Well ok, Jennings and Locket where both number 1 contenders so, granted through rankings maybe they technically deserved to be in the same ring, but the gulf in class is apparent in all cases, so much so that anyone who knows boxing knows, they REALLY shouldnt be in the ring with an elite fighter.

i remember after the mayweather fight hatton said he would never go out on a loss so i would assume there will be a farewell fight at the least at the city of man stadium. I doubt it would be Witter, It would have to be someone beatable.. Maybe Casamayor?

Can,t see him fighting Witter but could see him fighting Khan if Khan wins title. Either way he,ll just do more damage to his rapidly fading legacy as last nights ko was a career finisher. I just hope he dosn,t give Khan or Fwank the chance to put the final nail in the coffin.

You don't think Witter is beatable? Is he actually any better than Casamayor?

Hatton will not be in with a puncher.

It will be a lightweight moving up.

i would go as far to say that witter is more dangerous with heavier hands with a very awkward style and faster than hatton. A fair assumption?

So, Would Maussa have been acceptable?

Hatton was living off the KT result for years and never improved one bit.

KO10 PBF
KO2 MP

2 Live fighters in their prime and he hardly landed anything.

Destroyed, basically.

Witter should forget about Hatton and should not get distracted by hopes of fighting him if he wins the WBC title again. Witter just needs to stay focused on his own career so he doesn't get outworked again.

hatton is finished as a force at world level - witter is on the slide.
hatton will probably want to go out with a win against a ''name'' opponent and witter fits the bill.
no need for any titles or any of that chelp, just tidy up the loose domestic ends before some well-deserved pipe and slippers time.
Hatton's defeats are to the two greatest. What does he have to gain from fighting Witter ?

As somsone said, as likely as getting sucked off by the queen.

He has nothing to gain he should retire if he wants 1 last bout make it with Bradley to regain his old title atleast in that fight he has something to gain a world title
