but the landscape has changed dramatically now. hatton won't want to go in with marquez, mayweather, valero etc so he needs a sellable name for a farewell fight to say goodbye to his loyal fans in the UK. i think hatton v witter could happen after all, in fact it has never made more sense.

I would love that too, but I don't think it will happen. Hatton wouldn't be in the position to eb told that- I'm he wants a route back, they WILL find a way! At no point will Hatton "need" Witter.

The only way I can see Hatton "needing" Witter is if Witter picks up a couple of titles. I don't think it'd be difficult to clean that division up if Pac man decides not to stick around.
Hatton wont move up, so if he wanted to establish himself back at lww, and Witter got the titles, he'd look a bit of a mug if he reeled out the old list of excuses for not taking the fight.

However I dont think Hatton will want to re establish himself, one last money making hurrah and he'll be a team captain on A Question of Sport

I must admit I'm still in shock too. I'm not surprised that Ricky lost, simply because of how good Pac is, but I was expecting a back and forth bruising encounter, with both fighters getting a few knockdowns in. It's probably a fight I wont ever watch again
