No he is not - just easy to hit - therein lies a very subtle difference.

Everyone can keep guessing mate!! - sorry even if the person was named I still wouldn't admit to it.

I have got to say overall - I really think this "blame" thing is wrong mainly because everything would have been different on this forum if Hatton had beaten Pacman - how on earth does one fight change things.

The person I refer to in my most humble opinion caused me and a couple of other members of Fight Academy unecessary hassle at times but I am sure he meant well - this person is the one who I heard slagging everyone but himself when the slightest mistake was made.

In addition I was actually present when at times he could have been perhaps a little more diplomatic with the way he dealt with the press - but again that is just my personal opinion thats all.

In the bigger scheme of things Team Hatton have done very well for themselves and good luck to them - not one of us would have refused a position in their team - having spent those 3 fights with Team Hatton and Fight Academy I honestly consider myself one of the luckiest people alive.

I seriously cannot understand why Ricky is taking so much sh*t - he lost to the 2 best P4P fighters in the world - name me another British fighter who has faced the P4P best fighters - yeah okay there is a list - but theres not many people on it.

But back to this blame thing - leave Ricky out of it - I dont believe he deserves it.
errr....why dont you like Billy? ....

ROBERTO DURAN VS THOMAS HEARNS.

Utter bollocks. Chilling knockout at the top top level, uncommensurate with the abilities of the fighters involved, I'll give you that, but FFS did Duran charge straight at Hearns with his chin up & hands down? No. Also, Hatton was never, will never be, has never been & isn't fit to lace the fricking boots of Roberto Duran, one of the best lightweights of all time & a multi-division champion, a guy who took absolute bombs from people clean out of his weight class without folding.

The comparison is completely invalid because Duran had an all-time great chin. Hatton, strong likeable lad that he is, does not. To make it hold water Ricky would have had to be coming off a close points loss with, say, the middleweight champion at this time & not suffered a knockdown there. However, he was flattened (eventually but flattened nonetheless) by a light-hitting though preternaturally skilled fighter his own size.

Hearns' KO of Duran was, given the reputation & class of the guy being flattened, a one-off. Please do not muddy its waters with this fight, which I feel is more of the order of Sugar Ray Leonard's knockout of Dave Boy Green.

Sorry to have gone on but some of the hyperbole these last two days is annoying, & I fear that if somehow this gets into a time capsule you'll mislead the cockroach generations whose civilisation will come after ours. They must know the truth!

Ahem...
My point wasn't to draw a direct comparison between Duran and Hatton, but in response to the view point that elite fighters should NEVER suffer crushing defeats. I'm not saying Hatton is an elite all time great, he does/did need more wins on the Tszyu level to warrant that claim and lets be honest, it aint going to happen.

However, whilst Hatton is not in Duran's league - to compare Ricky to Dave Boy Green is a little bit OTT the other way.... and you can condem Hatton's chin if you want, but I think Hatton showed remarkable punch resistance against Tszyu and even against Mayweather... Mayweather who had hurt the granite chinned DLH at 154 the fight before and gave Hatton a bit of a lesson before Ricky eventually wilted.

I do think the manner of the defeat is kind of a one-off also, not that Ricky lost or even suffered a KO defeat, but a one punch chilling KO in the second round... nothing in Ricky's resume, against good quality fighters (far better than what Dave Boy Green beat) has suggested such a thing was possible.

It indicates for me either age, wear and tear, or some kind of problem - cause for my Kostya Tszyu hits harder than Pacquiao.
