What about Julian Jackson and Gerald McClellan they were just as good Look at http://boxrec.com/boxer_display.php?boxer_id=000565 Jackson 55 wins 49 KOs, with a couple of the best knockouts ever seen

Gerald McClellan had 29 KOs in 31 wins, with 20, yes 20 first round knockouts. He won a title defense against Jay Bell in 30 seconds including a full count of 10.

I think these two deserve a mention.

...when I see the word "artist"after" Knockout" my vote goes to joe louis. fast accurate devastating combinations and also one punch power..though there may be others who rate higher in that category. i don't think just knockout percentages or one punch power are the full criteria.....but again, i'm swayed by the term "artist".

Doesn't Foreman deserve consideration here as well? "Artistic" may not be a term that springs to mind regarding his knockouts, but still...

Young Stribling, light heavyweight boxer who fought in 1920`s achieved 127 knock outs in 233 wins. I think only Archie Moore has more KO`s. Archie Moore was first to break his record, i don´t know if anyone else has done that.

How do you judge a 'knockout artist?" . . .

I would go for the guys with the most KOs- Langford, Moore, Stribling.

Regarding Moore and Langford, if you can KO guys half your age and bigger then you in your mid 40s, you are a knockout artist.

Tiger Jack Fox probably has the most knockouts, if all (or most) of his bouts are ever uncovered. I would suspect that he is conservatively, around 150 to 160 knockouts.
