yep ashley theophane would definitely be top of my list.hes not blown up hype.didn't achieve anything as an amateur,and has had 2 build himself up as a pro. good head movement,quick hands and outstanding stamina

whats been happening with Kevin MItchell, have not heard much lately.

he looks pretty explosive, but i don't like the showboating and micky taking of oponents.

kevin mitchell is back in september. frank wanted him to rest. thats why he never fought on the british bill of the tyson undercard. i don't think he is the next benn, i rate ashley theophane better than him on what i have seen.
hatton is the most over rated fighter in the world thats why frank won't give him a proper fight.
there is miguel cotto, floyd mayweather jr, sharmba mitchell. they would all eat up hatton. harris is the weakest champ out there.
ashley theophane, i watched his debut, he's a good boxer. can't tell how far he can go as the opposition hasn't been anything special, but i have seen him train and he has skills. not the normal british boxer who fights on heart and fitness. he looks class but we have to wait.
the light welterweights is an exciting division in britain and the worlld.

Talented welter, Anthony Small will make a name for himself... hope so too!

The light-welter pair of Lee Beavis and Lenny Daws certainly have the talent for British title level and maybe even beyond!

When James Boyd makes his debut he'll make a splash.

Topman: Jamal Morrison turning pro, wot weight div will he be in? defo rated him as an amateur (he has a style much more suited to the pros), I'll be lookin out for him.

Also I reckon John O'Donnell will do well as a pro and Kel Brook who will make his debut soon.

seen as u ask maverick!morrison from what ive heard will b turning as a lightwelter.though last time i hear he was fighting at welter.most definiely an excellent talent 4 the future.great defence,very strong and probably the best body puncher i hav seen.if u dont mind me asking maverick, when was the last time u seen him box and how did he get on?

I rate him highly still! I know he's been sparring some good fighters and more than holding his own

Agree also about O'Donnell and Kel Brook. Excellent prospects. The future of British boxing seems quite healthy.

I've seen him box and know a few who've fought him. With the talk of bringing back the old weight divisions domestically I wondered if he may have another crack at the ABAs. The changes in weight (abolishment of light-middle, welter from 67 to 69 etc.) can't of helped him.

I've seen all of Jamal's fights bar one and the last one was against David Byrnes back in May where he lost on a very close points decision.

As a post script here, he was due to fight another opponent but they pulled out and Jamal, whom I have never known to shy from an opponent, took Bryres on last minute on his own Club Show aware that he was unlikely to get the decision.

I'm pretty sure Jamal will be 67kg in the pros Topman and you've got a good point Ulysses about the ABAs with the reinstatment of the weight divisions but bear in mind that that decision was voted in at the Lnd AGM the previous year and it still got reversed before the season started. Also I don't think winning the ABAs has that much kudos for the pro game anymore and it certainly doesn't have any bearing on performing well as a pro.

His first six fights as a pro don't reflect that in my view. He has gone the 6 round distance in most of them against some woeful opposition.
