hot prospects

kevin mitchell is back in september. frank wanted him to rest. thats why he never fought on the british bill of the tyson undercard. i don't think he is the next benn, i rate ashley theophane better than him on what i have seen.
hatton is the most over rated fighter in the world thats why frank won't give him a proper fight.
there is miguel cotto, floyd mayweather jr, sharmba mitchell. they would all eat up hatton. harris is the weakest champ out there.
ashley theophane, i watched his debut, he's a good boxer. can't tell how far he can go as the opposition hasn't been anything special, but i have seen him train and he has skills. not the normal british boxer who fights on heart and fitness. he looks class but we have to wait.
the light welterweights is an exciting division in britain and the worlld.

DONT THINK HATTON IS OVERRATED,JUST DEPRIVED OF BIG FITES BY WARREN.HE HAS SHOWN WHAT HE CAN DO AGAINST FRINGE FITERS IE TAKIE AND AND AN OLD V PHILLIPS.JUST HAV 2 WAIT AND C WHAT HE CAN DO AGAINST THE BEST IN THE DIVISION.HES NOT AS GOOD AS THE MAYWEATHERS AND COTTOS OF THE WORLD. BUT IS GOOD ENOUGH AND STRONG ENOUGH 2 HANDLE GATTI,AND HARRIS. STILL WANA C HIM IN WIV WITTER
I think Ali Nuumbembe should be on this list. 9 and 0 and ain't lost a single round yet. 8)

YEAH,I THINK SMALL WILL DO WELL UNORTHERDOX STYLE WHO CAN BANG A BIT.BEAVIS IS A GOOD FIGHTER NOT SURE HOW FAR HE'LL GO AS A PRO.DAWS A VERY GOOD FITER,SEEN HIM DOWN AND BADLY SHAKEN AGAINST A RUSSIAN.LOOK OUT 4 A NEW PRO COMING THROUGH IN THE NEXT 2-3MONTHS JAMAL MORRISON HE'LL BRING SOME EXTRA QUALITY 2 THE LIGHT WELTER DIVISION
Ulysses......Anthony Small aye......hmm know a few who fought that switcheroo. Yeh rate him still.
Topman: Jamal Morrison turning pro, wot weight div will he be in? defo rated him as an amateur (he has a style much more suited to the pros), I'll be lookin out for him.
Also I reckon John O'Donnell will do well as a pro and Kel Brook who will make his debut soon.

seen as u ask maverick!morrison from what ive heard will b turning as a lightwelter.though last time i hear he was fighting at welter.most definiely an excellent talent 4 the future.great defence, very strong and probably the best body puncher i hav seen.if u dont mind me asking maverick, when was the last time u seen him box and how did he get on?

Agree also about O'Donnell and Kel Brook. Excellent prospects. The future of British boxing seems quite healthy.
I've seen him box and know a few who've fought him. With the talk of bringing back the old weight divisions domestically I wondered if he may have another crack at the ABAs. The changes in weight (abolishment of light-middle, welter from 67 to 69 etc.) can't of helped him.topman wrote:seen as u ask maverick!morrison from what ive heard will b turning as a lightwelter.though last time i hear he was fighting at welter.most definiely an excellent talent 4 the future.great defence, very strong and probably the best body puncher i hav seen.if u dont mind me asking maverick, when was the last time u seen him box and how did he get on?
TAKING AWAY THE 67 AND 71 DIVISION DEF. DIDNT HELP MORRISON,CANT B MORE THAN 5"5"TALL SO 2 SMALL 4 A 69 KILO FIGHTER AS U HAVE MIDDLES COMING DOWN 2 THAT DIV.AND 2 MUCH WEIGHT 2 LOSE 2 GET DOWN 2 64.ENDED UP LOSING 2 HIS BROTHER IN THE ABAS WHO IS A NATURAL VERY STRONG LIGHT MIDDLE.DONT THINK HE'LL STAY AMATEUR LONG ENOUGH 2 DO ABA. ULYSSES,HOW BOUT YOUR SELF ARE U A BOXER AMATEUR OR PRO.IF SO ARE YOU A NEW UP AN COMING TALENT? REAL DEAL!

As a post script here, he was due to fight another opponent but they pulled out and Jamal, whom I have never known to shy from an opponent, took Bryres on last minute on his own Club Show aware that he was unlikely to get the decision.
I'm pretty sure Jamal will be 67kg in the pros Topman and you've got a good point Ulysses about the ABAs with the reinstatment of the weight divisions but bear in mind that that decision was voted in at the Lnd AGM the previous year and it still got reversed before the season started. Also I don't think winning the ABAs has that much kudos for the pro game anymore and it certainly doesn't have any bearing on performing well as a pro.
I've seen all of Jamal's fights bar one and the last one was against David Byrnes back in May where he lost on a very close points decision..if u dont mind me asking maverick, when was the last time u seen him box and how did he get on?

His first six fights as a pro don't reflect that in my view. He has gone the 6 round distance in most of them against some woeful opposition.topman wrote:yep ashley theophane would definitely be top of my list.hes not blown up hype.didn't achieve anything as an amateur, and has had 2 build himself up as a pro. good head movement, quick hands and outstanding stamina
JAMAL MORRISON, I'VE SEEN A FEW OF HIS FIGHTS. HE DOES THROW GOOD BODY SHOTS. ALSO THROWS GOOD COMBINATIONS. HE IS ONE TO WATCH, THE 63 MIGHT BE TOO MUCH OF A STRUGGLE BUT 67 I THINK HE COULD BE UP THERE WITH JENNINGS AND BARNES.
ASHLEY THEOPHANE WENT POINTS 4 OUT OF 6 TIMES BUT THAT WAS AGAINST LIGHT MIDDLE WEIGHTS. THE 2 LIGHT WELTERS HE FOUGHT, HE STOPPED SO YOU CANT GO BY HIS RECORD. I HEAR NEXT YEAR HE IS FIGHTING FRANCIS BARRETT AND ALAN BOSWORTH. SO THEY WILL BE BIG STEP UPS AS THEY ARE BOTH IN TOP 10.
SMALLS, HE'S ALRIGHT, NEVER BEEN A FAN OF HIS. AGAINST QUALITY OPPOSITION I FEEL HE WILL GET DEALT WITH. JAMAL I TIP FOR BIGGER THINGS.

BECAUSE YOU ARE A TOP QUALITY AMARTEUR DOESN'T MEAN YOU WILL DO GO AS PRO. TO ME ASHLEY IS LOOKING BETTER THAN MITCHELL AND BEAVIS AND THEY ARE TIPPED FOR BIG THINGS. MITCHELL IS FIGHTING BUMS, HATTON FOUGHT BUMS FOR YEARS, SO THAT DOESN'T MEAN ANYTHING.Loftgroov wrote:His first six fights as a pro don't reflect that in my view. WHEN IT IS TIME TO STEP UP THATS WHEN YOU JUDGE A NOVICE PRO. ASHLEY SPARS WITH AJOSE (13-0) WHO IS RANKED 12 AND HANDLES HIMSELF. ASHLEY IS BEING FINANCED BY ALOT OF PEOPLE WHO KNOW HE IS GOOD. I MARKET HIM AND I WOULDN'T WASTE MY TIME, IF I DIDN'T BELIEVE IN HIM. EVERYONE WHO HAS SEEN HIM, KNOWS HE IS GOOD. YOU HAVE TO JUGDE HIM WITH OTHER 6-0 PRO'S AND YOU WILL KNOW HE STANDS ABOVE THEM. HIS MANAGERS DAVE COLDWELL AND AKAY NEXT YEAR WILL TAKE A GAMBLE WITH HIM FIGHTING TOP 10 OPPONENTS.
ANYONE WHO HAS NOT SEEN HIM AND WONDERS WHAT THE HYPE IS ABOUT. SEND ME YOUR ADDRESS AND I WILL SEND YOU A DVD OF HIS SPARRING, 3 OF HIS FIGHTS AND A DOCUMENTARY THAT WAS ON CHANNEL 4.
