No it wouldnt, bottom line is he had never stepped up to fight a real big boy in his prime.
Not that this damaged Hagler's legacy but If Floyd is gonna flirt with heavier guys he should do so against someone in their prime and who he's not a clear favourite against.
I don't buy that "10.10" fighting 13st is an issue, it wasnt for Jones and wouldn't be for Mayweather.
Time for him to fight a real challenge methinks.
Are you serious about this Kessler thing?
Yes, If I former LMW can fight and win the HW title then why not?
154 to 234 thats 80 pounds, so Floyds weight differance would be how much?

Roy Jones Jr was a 175 lbs fighter when he moved up to heavyweight. At 175 lbs he was draining weight, so he probably only put around 10 lbs to make the step up to 193.
It's important to consider how much weight the fighters are draining, how tall they are and how much reach they have. But, by far, the most important consideration is the percentage of difference in their weights. Do you think that a 220 lbs boxer vs a 200 lbs boxer is the same as a 120 lbs boxer vs a 100 lbs boxer?

And to add to that, just because RJJ did it, why have you got a bee in your bonnet about Floyd doing it? Does that mean all those other all time greats can't be recognised without moving ridiculously through the weights?
