Who you got for Khan vs Maidana if it happens or Kotelnik vs Maidana 2 I think Maidana would KO Khan early and Kotelnik would outbox Maidana and win a close but clear UD

Well the ortiz result makes kotelniks win look a bit better alright. kotelnik is solid and the more I think about it, the more I think Khan is biting off a bit more than he can chew. Kotelnik pushed Witter all the way, beat Maidana who beat Ortiz and has a solid record. He's no mug. If Khan can beat him (if the fight is still on?), you have to give Khan tons of credit.

Maidana would dispose of Khan early imo. Also, I would fancy Kotelnik to outbox him again.

Your right Kotelnik win looks so much better now he has a solid chin and is a very good boxer I think Maidana would be the worst fight for Khan as he hits hard and throws bombs and is bound to catch Khan but as you said it would be a very good result if Khan could win this one

Williams-Moore would be a frightening fight for Jamie. I'd love to see him win a world title, but I don't see how the styles match up well for him in that. He eats an awful lot of punches.

He eats uppercuts for breakfast, whilst watching Trisha on TV. It's his job all said and done.

Williams would be odds-on favourite, but in boxing a good shot can turn a fight around and personally i'd like to see Moore given his chance, win or lose, he deserves it.

Personally i'm not that sold on Williams.

Granted, he is a freak who can fight at any weight he turns his hand to and with excellent results, has a good dig on him and that incredible reach.

Zsinzuruk might be a banana skin for him though if it comes off

i think some of us have the power of foresight:

if khan beats kotelnik - perhaps with help of "home-mealing" and kotelnik's trademark slow start - I believe ppl will say, "Khan doesn't have to fight Maidana. Khan beat Kotelnik and Maidana didn't. Khan isn't avoiding Maidana; he can do what he wants. It's Maidana's fault for losing Kotelnik. Maybe Maidana can fight Torres, Katsidis etc."

re moore - funny, i've seen moore block plenty of shots, as well as using his SKILLS to break down opponents. he's had defeats but the key is how much he's improved from them. his win over macklin will look excellent one day - macklin has really come on with the cult of joe gallagher - and moore is a better fighter than he was 2 years ago, as he can use the left hand properly again.

Fair enough Moore has skills but to put them on par with Paul Williams is ridiculous.

Just seen the fight and it was a cracker indeed. Some of the commentary made me chuckle, particularly from Kellerman:

"So far in his career, Victor Ortiz has been too good to be true..."

Then in the post-fight interview he congratulated Ortiz personally for his heart and courage and a great fight, just moments after stating, "Ortiz's career may be defined by this moment. He jusy quit in the ring."

Ortiz reminded me a lot of DLH the way he stood grinning through the interview. I did feel a bit sorry for him though as he seemed an honest kid but his comments may be put down to emotions rather than the fact he actually wants to quit the sport altogether.

And back to Kellerman....he said to Maidana that a lot of people thought he beat Kotelnik. Is this true? Who were these people?

You really can't blame Ortiz for calling it a day there at all - he was one eyed and about to get be-headed. How long would Mighty Max Kellerman have lasted in there?

Ortiz was in a state of shock when he discovered that his kindly promoters had suddenly chucked him in with an absolute monster: a big punching bruiser with a granite chin, a really bad opponent for a pressure fighter like Ortiz to take on so early in his career. Great matchmaking for the fans, but boneheaded from the young fighter's point of view.

FW would never have let Khan near Maidana, and he's pulled a fast one by grabbing hold of the much lighter punching champion for Khan to take on. Ortiz would have had a much better chance against Kotelnik too. Or at least not have taken such a beating.

I thought Maidana just edged it in a fight that could have gone either way and so do a lot of others. I don't see how anyone could think that one guy was a clear winner, it was so close.

williams has freaky athleticism and physical gifts but come on, skills? he throws the right hook wide, his chin is often in the air when throwing, throws amateurish flurries, etc....

Mate thats shocking, Williams is top top class. He'd do Jamie worse than Lockett got done by Pavlik. There is really no comparison and I'm just glad that I have this thread to bump if Moore gets an unlikely chance at Williams. It really is shocking, the bias on this site for Moore. he's so basic and limited. I guess I'll save my gloating (and there will be an awful lot of it) until he gets beat (I won't have to wait long if he steps it up).
