Small looks like he's got to Hall, especially with the biting the nose off comment.whicker wrote:http://www.youtube.com/user/allegedly ... olqTvb1Ees
Good fun!
Press conferences need to be more like this!
Still, i reckon and hope Hall will knock Small out.
Re: Hall V Small build up.
I dunno... Smalls antics aren't to everyones taste but he does cause interest. About four years ago London Tonight did a piece on him as a young black man setting a good example in a troublesome area. He's flat was done up like a gym with full size mirrors all over the place - probably not all for boxing
It was a long and positive piece on the wider regional news on a mainstream channel after what was about 8 or 9 fights into his career. His personality probably got him the air space and a few part time boxing fans were asking me about him after that, they were interested. Not a bad thing for boxing that...
Should be a good fight, Small wins for me, around the ninth.

I just cant see how Small can win this fight, there is nothing about him to suggest he has the tools to do the job.

A great Small Hall contest.
Re: Hall V Small build up.
i have suspected this myself...off the back of an interview I saw with him that was NOT at ringside, plus some community work he gets involved with, kids schemes and stuff.Londonirish wrote:madmick wrote:smalls a very humble lad outside the ring.
You aint wrong there, its like two different people..
I think Rhodes would have beaten him, based on the way he anihilated Woolcombe and his good performances recently and top level experience. But I think that Small will beat Matthew Hall. I think Pryce was awful, he'd been out of the ring a long time and think he'd had a boozing spell, which he told one of the newspapers.

Re: Hall V Small build up.
And why is this undercard fight getting everyone hyped up? I'd say we have to credit the much disliked Anthony Small for that - his brash personality brings a whole new side to the fight, rather than having two near silent boxers, sitting beside each other at another boring press conf, saying it's "going to be a good fight" etc etc
And for that, I hope he wins. Though I really like the look of Hall, he was terrific against Pryce, and he's the perfect opponent for this fight, A fight that might just be the best on a great looking bill.
I'm going for Small to win this, mid rounds KO, but it can go either way with a puncher like Hall involved. Who's got the better chin?

Yeah, personality does help, but there is more two it than that. It's a well matched fight between two good British boxers. How often do we see that nowadays?MightyWarrior wrote:And why is this undercard fight getting everyone hyped up? The steep decline in the quality of matchmaking for British titles nowadays, and the laughable level of opposition offered for the Commonwealth title means that fights like this are now very much the exception, not the rule.

Re: Hall V Small build up.
Small's going to play patty-cake on Hall's head for a few rounds before stopping him. He's going to shock people with how easy he deals with Hall. Too quick, puts his punches together better and Hall will become a sucker for Small's slashing uppercuts. Hall won't be able to tag him like he did with Pryce, and he'll have to take chances to get anything off. That's when Small will be countering the hell out of him with quicker shots.
