The tape over the knuckle rule was made to protect the fighters hands, not to soften the impact. There is no advantage to be gained by taping knuckles.

sad part is.....panama did it because he had alot of people and money involved in resto's winning....even if resto would have never been caught.....do you think panama would share a single "off the record" cent he made with resto? he didnt seem like the type who would

I found the documentary to be somewhat distasteful. Being the parent of a murdered child, I may have a different perspective on the way the story was told. Billy's father, while polite, was very clear on wanting to have no involvement in such a documentary. Yet the filmmaker regardlessly had Resto knocking on his door repeatedly until a child opened the door and said they would call the police if he didn't leave. That was a complete lack of respect and consideration of Billy's family's sentiment. It made the purpose clearly personal in the interest of the filmmaker.
I wish it had been disclosed whether Resto received compensation for his participation in the program, I'd bet that he did. Panama Lewis proved to be the same con mentality that he's always been. Resto couldn't even look Lewis in the eye when he was hearing the same delusional self-righteous justification of criminal acts that probably echoed that past 26 years in his mind.
As with too many murder stories, the focus was on a killer. And leave it to an estranged widow to color in the redemption that Resto looked for in the story writing. All criminals seem to be more sorry that they got caught than they are for having no moral conscience when committing the act. And Resto's family clearly proved the lack of responsibility that must run in the family as their sentiment is the wrong done to Resto.
All in all, to me it was pretty sickening but I know the producer and Resto, no doubt, made some money out of it.
