The president of Ringside was at ringside and witnessed the stoppage. Its on youtube. There is a grievance out to go to scorecards. There was no reason to stop fight. He sent a letter about Daynell's character and a belt to say he was a champion. They will review the bout.

Interesting. Filing a grievance only applies to a rule violation and official's judgments are non-grievable. What's the YouTube URL?

it's on my site and I was ringside. I didn't see John. I think the fighter was ready to continue but he was taking some hard shots. Just because you can doesn't mean you should. I do know there is no greivance process at Ringside. The judges aren't always going to get it right. We had a boxer that lost his first fight in two years and by almost all accounts he won. Guess what? It happens. Remember that feeling and use it in the gym. I saw a few bad decisions but only a few. Danyell is a good boxer. At least he lost to a national champion. He should hold his head up and maybe they'll see each other at silvers.
Daynell is a many time national (and Ringside) champion too. From the tape and talking with his coach, a stoppage seemed wrong. Obviously we weren't in ring to get a close look but open fighters of that caliber and the way the fight was going, I can't see a reason to stop it. I am curious to know what the cards were prior to stoppage. But like you said it happens in amateur boxing and both will be successful in the future.
