Amazing value, Stan James only give 2/1.

Any news on how sharp Salem is looking?

It's just a bit worrying cause Sky Sports and Sky Bet are related and Sky Bet have low odds on the early rounds.

This is the first bet I've had in AGES. Steamed in to it. Just on the value principle.

I remember 8/1 about Hamed beating Calvo on points with fond memories...

the return would be £65. the most important principle is you get your stake back.

Re Sky knowing something we don't, that is a very good point. Bookies often give stupid odds but this is ridiculous. I would even say stan james at 2/1 is generous. Calzaghe on points is more likely than 2/1, IMO.

Let's hope calzaghe hurts his hands and slaps his way to a points win. hell, he may not even need to. Anyone remember that round vs Brewer, think it was the 3rd, when calzaghe landed 3 flush hooks with full weight behind them, and brewer didn't even wobble? brewer was hardly hurt at all in that fight. echols on the other hand hurt brewer badly, but antwun couldn't stop this guy Salem.

it looks convincing on paper, but we shall have to see. I have a cover bet on the last 4 rounds anyway which would win my stake back if it ends in one of those rounds.

I just put £150 on Calzaghe to win on points, bit risky but I dont bet often and when I do its usually a big one :)

that sounds like an intelligent bet mike. i put 60 on myself (including free bet), don't have the stones to put more on, i've done really well recently and haven't deposited any of it yet.

just thought, it might be because skybet are relatively new that they are offering such a generous price, thye need to lure people in somehow and maybe they are prepared to take risks until they are secure enough to shorten the odds.

That could be it, looking at other betting places they do seem to be giving the better options on this one.

I do not particularly like the Skybet site and structure, if the odds were the same I would use bet365 instead but its all about the odds.

If I do get lucky with this one it could help cover the cost of a holiday I have booked :)

oh god, i think i've just found out the reason for these odds. salem is FASTING on friday because of Ramadan.

calzaghe will be beating up on a fighter with no energy.

Exactly, it's all about the value. JC has been out for a time, the opponent is durable and has a track record, 11-2 is icredible value.

Don't worry about ramadam, they still eat, just not during daylight.

This is a weird pattern - Skybet is 5-1 for calzaghe on points, but Stan James, Bet365 are 2-1 and 7-4!!!! very big discrepancy.

Additionally Skybet have 4-1 on round 1 (same on round 2 and 3)....yet bet365 and stanjames have 10-1 on round one......

Strange how Sky see this as a quick one for Joe, yet others see this as a PTS win for Joe.

What do Sky know that we don't?

Might be worth hedging with a couple of quid on the first round as well.....

salem CANNOT go early.... he might go mid rounds through tiredness or accumulation of punches but surely he is too experienced to get petrified like Veit and too good a chin to get nailed.....

Relatively new? They've been going for a good couple of years now

If you goto http://www.bettingzone.co.uk then they give you the best priced odds for a number of boxing matches and other sports.

A big thanks to Riddick and Phoenix.

I put £150 on the JC Points Win and got about £800 profit.

My holiday to Vegas and LA I just paid for a few weeks ago including tickets to Morales and Barrera has nearly all been paid back to me from this win.
