Is 21 too late to start boxing? I had a go at 15 but it didnt last long so i wouldnt call it past experience. i would like to start for the fitness and to learn a self defence. Alot of boxers start at a very young age and i was worried im past it now. I read glencoffe johnson started at 20 just to lose weight, obviously im not aiming that high
Thanks for any replies
Your at a slight disadvantage, with those who started at 10, but don't hold back. You will fight in the novice divsion for awhile, then move to open. While your skills may not be as good as someone who has boxed since birth, things even out over time. However I will say this, I have seen guys with great skills lose to guys who were in great condition. Conditioning wins fights, don't ever forget that.

35 and over? Do they still require a CAT scan and full cardiogram for 36 and over. This is where most older boxers have the challenge. It's un "F"in believably costly and no insurance co is going to pay for you to have that so you can box.
I still spar with most of my boxers and I'm 50 yrs and still cranking.
