Cheer up 2004 has not been that bad heres 3 reasons why not!
After the farce on friday I have reacked my brains to find three good things to happen to british boxing this year.
1. Amir Khan winning the silver medal in Athens
2. Danny Williams beating Mike Tyson then next fight fighting for the world championship
3. Thompson against Haye best fight of the year in my view
Cheer up guys in 2005 Hatton might fight the winner of Tsyzu Mitchell Calzaghe may fight Tarver and Harrison may get Chi. I'm holding my breath at the moment.

right sick of all the pessism even if some of it is warranted, trying to be positive cos out of positive thinking, positive things arise my friends. maybe this is part of the problem with ouyr sport too many people sat around fornicating moaning about the state of it and not doing anything to actually support and improve it.
1. Danny Williams is a THE success story of 2004 and could end up starting the new year Champ of the World.
2. Hatton should get a meaningful title shot next year, he has no where else to go
3. Scotts harrison same
4. Calzaghe we can hope.
5. Audley has to step it up next year its do or time for Aud.
6. David Haye will come back biger and wiser for his result against Carl thompson. Showing great BOUNCEBACKABILITY!
7. Kevin mitchell nice young prospect who will look to mature nicely next year.
8. Signs that some of the match making is on the up, Barnes Hare, an example, Thomson Haye another, alexander tak, another.
9 Froch and Eastman both in decent positions to progress, as is Enzo macc, gomez, cook.
10. Johnny Nelson is still doing his stuff at world level.
11. Jonhny Nelson and Richie woodhall have both increased the watchability of anything they are on. class shows through.
12.Boxing is getitng increased exposure on the tv just not the live fights, boxing academy and "the fight" series being a case in point. Its raising the profile of the sport.
I could keep going but last but no means least, Ive had some great nights out this year and met some great peopl,e some of whom I am proud to have say have become friends, if that isnt a fornicating reason to keep smiling on the sport and be positive I dont know what is.
here endeth my four penneth., the rest of you guys cheer up it aint all that bad.

What about world level.
Emergence of Cotto as a real force.
Trinidad's comeback.
"Winky" Wright finally getting some of the credit he's due.
Morales returning to form.
Mayweather returning to form.
Marquez vs Pacquiao.
Fighters going to Germany, and actually winning on points.
Ottke's retirement.
See, it's not been all bad.

you fornicating rabbitbrain. why do all you brits whine because of the fornicating controversial Reid-fight. there are hundreds of fights in Germany without british fighters that have controversial point victories for whoever. what has happened in the USA since 100 years? there you can buy a fight every day. and in britain there was never a controversial decision. you post the biggest shit of all times.glittermonkey wrote:What about world level.

It's also untrue. He can go on doing what he's been doing for the last 3 years and what Calzaghe has been doing for the last 7.Coconut wrote:That's quite a sad statement.J wrote:2. Hatton should get a meaningful title shot next year, he has no where else to go
Which means far from having nowhere else to go, he can go to the bank, laughing as he walks...

Rabbit-brain eh, never been called that before. You need to relax Bubi, cos that was a little wind-up, just for you, and you bit like a hungry shark.BubiScholz wrote:you fornicating rabbitbrain. why do all you brits whine because of the fornicating controversial Reid-fight. there are hundreds of fights in Germany without british fighters that have controversial point victories for whoever. what has happened in the USA since 100 years? there you can buy a fight every day. and in britain there was never a controversial decision. you post the biggest shit of all times.glittermonkey wrote:What about world level.

YOU RABBIT BRAINGoz wrote:In answer to the original post, there are always going to be a few highlights in the calendar of any sport (except cricket), but the duds in 2004 have by far outweighed the positives.
Cancelled fights, TV interest once again slipping, tt's been desperate...
CRICKET IS GREAT. Why do all you fornicating non cricket people slate off cricket hhm
sorry bubi couldnt resist.
And for those who decided to pick the hatton point out of that list GET A fornicating LIFE.
Jesus Im bored of talkingabout it, that is my opinion and Im trying my hardest here to be positive amongst lets face it a sea of moaners at times.
Allthe friggin things you could have commented on out of that and you have keep grinding your beef about hatton, there are other fighters out there you know., we can discuss other things, to be frank it bores me.
Thanks to GM though thte only person who could find something postive to say as I said before if the sport you love is in that bad a state what you doing about helping it out apart from sitting on a message board berating the sorry state its in hmmm?
That said, boss, you're orginal quote was quite depressing. Kind of like 'he's run everyone's patience thin so he HAS to do it now'. Shouldn't be like that.J wrote:And for those who decided to pick the hatton point out of that list GET A fornicating LIFE.

In reply to Goz I agree its been a pretty awful year in Britain at least but you have to hope that things will get better and that good fights will happen what I wish would happen is that all the bullshit about sub par fights and perfomences would cease. I mean Scott Harrison did talk some shit about his win on Friday but if he got Chi I would even consider going up to Scotland to see it.
no worries mate i was trying to incite a little, its a case in point, all we seem to talk about is hatton, theres plenty of others things to chat about, sorry i didnt mean to be in anyway rude, you and Goz always post sensible stuff so it was generic, I should have made that clear.Coconut wrote:That said, boss, you're orginal quote was quite depressing. Another good post.
For me Cotto is going to be the man of the division for a good few years to come and i hope he doesnt feel the need to move through the weights unless he needs too.
I predict he will be the man to finish the career of Kostya.
