In my opinion J, if you score the Ottke vs Reid fight counting the ref's mistakes, because unlike Bobi, I saw them as errors. Then Ottke won by 2 points. Like Starie before him, I didn't think Reid did enough to win the fight.

However, counting the Knockdown and not deducting a point then Reid would have won by a point. You might think that is harsh, but as I said IMO Reid didn't do that much and allowed Ottke to win most of the final few rounds.

I actually scored the Starie vs Ottke fight to Ottke only by a round, I thought Starie and Reid's performances were very similar both could have and should have won (after the starts they had made) but allowed Ottke to get back into it. Starie's was more frustrating because he showed in the final two rounds that he had loads left, wheras Reid was looking increasingly tired.

Have you got your "Sven Ottke greatest wins" video yet J? I'm sure Bubi will send you one for X-Mass if you ask nicely.

Come on stop being so blinkered. Reid was being warned for just about anything including landing clean right hands to the head. The referee was absolutely inept. Reid was not boxing unfairly that is the most ridiculous statement i have seen on boxrec for a long time. Ottke was being unsportsmanlike by whining to the referee about nothing as he did a lot later in his career. Reid won the fight and without the referee warnings would prob have knocked him out as he wouldnt have been worried about being DQ'd for perfectly clean punches.

And back to the subject.......

Johnson-Branco was a bad robbery if i remember correctly, Johnson must also demand respect for KO'ing the very capable German Thomas Ulrich in six rounds.

And back off the subject.......

Ottke was way behind against Mundine IMO, if only that idiot could have stayed on his feet and not got stopped by the feather fisted one it could have all been so different  Even though Mundine got deducted 2 points for a headbutt if i remember correctly he dropped Ottke (could be wrong there) and was leading him a merry dance and making him look a slow old man all throughout the fight...would have been really interesting had that fight gone to the cards.

I am tired talking about the Ottke v Reid fiasco, I'll leave it at this, something stank the place out that night, and it wasn't Reid's aftershave.

From what I remember Ottke was ahead on the cards at the time of the stoppage cant remember the exact scores.

Just checked, German judge had Ottke 3 points up, Spanish and Italian judges had Ottke 1 point in front.

Exactly. I mean if you add the 2 points mundine had taken off for the headbutt then the German judge had Ottke a point up and that includes a knockdown for Mundine.... although i am not sure he got a 10-8 for that round from memory.

Re: Ottke vs Mundine

Funniest shit ever before the fight when Mundine was sayiny shit like "Ottke hits like a girl" and then gets KO'd of the guy

Ottke-Reid Ref was one of the worst i have ever seen, was giving Reid warnings for hitting him with legitimate shots to the face
