I saw the fight of Joey Dawejko. I have to say that it has been a long time since I have seen a heavyweight (or anyone for that matter) with that much raw natural talent. He looked like a seasoned veteran for the first few rounds until he began to fade. His speed is remarkable and his footwork very nice. He slips very well with an excellent defense, and has good ring generalship. In a pro debut fight, it is customary to fight a four rounder. It was a little risky to fight six rounds, and against an experienced opponent to boot. However, by taking this fight and winning, he has progressed more than if he had fought and knocked out five inexperienced bums. I can only speculate that the reason he may have tired more than usual after a few rounds, is that in a pro debut, the adrenaline will make you tire more quickly than sparring the same amount of time in a gym because of the magnitude of the event. I hope he continues to work hard in the gym, and if he stays focussed, I see him becoming a great world champion, especially if he stays on the path of losing more weight with each fight.. If he was a few pounds lighter, his opponent would have gotten knocked out silly. I was most impressed by his speed (hands, feet, slipping, and thinking). He moves like a welterwight.
Good luck Joey - I hear you are a good kid, and you have a lot of people rooting for you.

I've been trying to find that place forever! What part of Philly is that in?
Sorry so late...its in Kensington...and middleweight Dennis Hasson literally lives right across the street.
