Wasn't too impressed really. Jones just looks old, shot and has zero punch resistance. Green was teeing off a bit at the end but I actually thought Roy's defence was pretty good but the ref waved it off. Hopefully Roy puts it to bed now. He should have left it after schooling Lacy. Now he goes out with a one round blowout loss. It's sad. I kinda wanted to the rematch with B-Hop. Now that's dead. Hopkins-Ornelas is pathetic. Honestly why bother? What does it achieve?!!!
Though hopefully Hopkins gets clocked. Not that , that will EVER happen. I want to see an end to this 'senior's tour' of boxing that guys like Jones and Hopkins have been pulling for years.
Cant believe this one I had Jones to win wide on points cant believe he was stopped so early, good name on the record for Green but Jones must retire now

You can't believe it! I fcuking can't. I was going to bet on Green by KO/TKO & fornicating thought better of it! Would have got generous odds for such a bet on Green. Serves me bloody right, I guess! :(
sad to see but thank f*ck it ended quick. Over 5 years since RJJ went against Tarver at LH and has declined since, felt sorry for him when he was almost schooled by JC so the step up against Cruiser who can bang was going to be difficult after bad few years.

Because Green is a puncher and Joe isn't.
Exactly. It's laughable how some try to use comparitive results to put down other fighters when they know full well there is more to it than that. True boxing fans should know that who beats who and how is not always a reliable way to compare fighters. A shot like that to the temple, especially from a powerful cruiserweight like Green is going to spell goodnight for many world class fighters, nevermind a vulnerable aging legend.
If he'd retired after the Ruiz fight most people would be talking Top 10 ATG
Jones was one of my favourite boxers of all time and still one of the greatest all round athletes to ever step foot in a ring imo...still think at his very peak the best boxer since the 90's and all you Haters can FUK RIGHT OFF!

This has no-bearing on the Calzaghe fight. That was always a joke match up. I've never been so unmotivated for a fight after a 24/7 series than for that one.
Jones was there for the payday vs Joe - as apparent by the way he went for the kill after the 1st round KD and him seemingly spending most of his time play sparring with his fat mate.
Jones was in survival mode, trying to do a damage limitation. I would imagine, although not seen it - against Green he wanted to win.

Calzaghe's win over a shot-to-sh*t Jones never meant anything to anyone with an IQ higher than 61.If your having problems comming to grips with that, then you should probably be posting over on East Side Boxing.
............I know..........they got some right retarded posters on there.
As for the fight - lets remeber
This was at Crusierweight
Roy Jones is no cruserweight - he only ever fought one time at a higher weight at heavyweight - and that was 2003 still in his prime years
Quite simple - he aint got the reflexs - and he was nailed by a powerful puncher at Crusierweight
Roy should have reitred by now - but he is still a decent fighter - he just got bombed out by a powerful guy

Both men had agreed to come in at 82 KGs, this was a catchweight which was informally agreed.
Catchweight fights for (alleged) titles should be banned. Fighters should be forced to come in at no less than a specified % of the weight class limit. The limit for this fight was 200 so they should have been forced to come in at no less than 195. If they don't 'make the weight' then they need to be told..."you're not fighting. fukk off down a division"
Having said that, some twat may read this and introduce an entire bunch of new titles And in the red corner we have Manny Pacquaio, the titleholder of the 145lb junior welter-welter catchweight subdivision. Then multiply this scenario by about 10 alphabet organisations

Why? So long as they're not over, it's entirely up to them.
i don't see what the problem with the fight is. jones may no longer be a legend but he was still considered a contender, his name is still big in other countries, he looked good in 2 previous bouts (sheika and lacy) and he dropped joe calzaghe, losing on POINTS despite bad cuts.
so for green to do him in a round, make a decent payday and perhaps land himself a moderately big fight next, that is alright for danny green.
ppl can moan and pine about jones. but green had some serious potential as an action fighter, which he never fulfilled. now he has a chance to fulfil it. there is upside for green, a good and exciting fighter who has used jones as a stepping stone. it happens. that's boxing. no point clinging on to false idols.

The contracted limit was 180 or 185 lbs (I can't remember which).
