Witter said he would go it for 100k. Then training expenses.

Also. Checkhook. The wbu challengers were not better than witter. Hatton knew witter would derail him and that meant no bug paydays for Hatton

Disgusting episode In Hattons career.

I wasn't saying he was lying, I was trying to point out to PN that it came from a reliable source.

I appreciate what everyones saying about Hatton Witter, but at the end of the day Hatton isn't going to be remembered for his WBU fights, he went well beyond that level and well beyond Witter's level. This idea that Hatton spent his career avoiding Witter doesn't hold much weight when you consider what Hatton did and who he fought. If you keep winning you quickly become unavoidable. Witter fell at every hurdle. Good British boxer with some credible wins on the world stage but far from the fighter he has sometimes been painted to be off the back of Hatton.

Witter should retire. I have no interest in ever seeing him fight again.

I'm sure Witter would have happily taken 500k (which would be 5-10%) for the fight. And I doubt he ever asked for purse parrity, Buncey probably got that from the Hattons

As for sueing someone for saying you claimed purse parity, I dont think so.

I no longer have a whole lot of sympathy for Witter none the less

Hatton's WBU run did not coincide with Witter's WBC.

Not sure where Witter would go from here, to be honest? He wont want to drop down to domestic levels, thats for sure. European? Aye, probably good enough to compete there, as for world title aspirations, dont think thats a realistic possiblity now.

Good fighter on his day, quick, powerful and awkward. Not sure if his desire is what it once was though.

Read in The Times yesterday that he needs operation on cruciate ligament injury he got while playing footy, think career could be decided on outcome of that and not what happens in ring

I have to laugh when someone says £500k reflecting 5% !!!
Are you for real, Phenomenal ?
If you seriously think that Hatton v Witter would have grossed £10 mill back in the day, you are so wide of the mark.
Oliver - never compare me to Spud for any nod and winks !
Look I have always been a staunch Witter fan.
I firmly believed that Hatton was using issues to avoid fighting Junior at the time and that Junior had the perfect style to beat him.
Now I'm not too sure.
I think Junior assumed he was an equal attraction to Hatton, and we all know that he brings little to the table - ticket sales etc.
I hear lots and lots of stuff - as I'm sure you do.
I rarely quote any of it on here, but when I heard this as far as I'm concerned it's worthy of bringing it up.
I don't give a flying f**k about letting the world know who I've met, whether my ball's bigger than your ball and I'm sure you are the same.
Apart from that Spudster is the ugliest f**ker on the planet with no O Levels.
No comparison.

Junior Witter can still do it IMO.
I think the problem is in his head. He needs to "do" more when he gets in the ring. The cat like reflexes are not quite what they were, he has to stop concerning himself with getting hit less than the other guy, and concentrate on HITTING.
The power's sufficient to compete at world class, the style is anything but.
I believe Witter genuinely was injured in that fight. I have no time for the sceptics. Witter was distraught afterwards, nearly in tears even, at having had to retire.
He's had a bit of time to recover, he's no millionaire. I think Witter should go for it once more. Give it another year or 2 and see if he can stick a few grand away using his undoubted ability, before that option disappears for ever.

Come on Junior, get back on your horse fella and get in there :TU:

Well it likely would have been worth that after the Mayweather fight or at least 5mil and it could have happened then, certainly would have been a bigger homecoming than Lazcano. Maybe Witter did want purse parrity at 1 stage when he was Brit/Euro/Commonwealth Champ and Hatton was WBU, but he even said during that period he'd take it for free 1 time and 100k another time, so it certainly could have been made

Too much times spent on this issue, Hatton did avoid him but Witter should have been more active and wasnt as good as I and many others hoped he would be

As for what next, maybe Euro level, if hes fighting at 147 he'll get battered on the world scene, maybe he can go in as an ex-titlist opponent against a top American but he'll likely get a beating unless its someone a bit 1D or slow.

Hlatshwayo is the IBF world titlist he could actually beat (because hes average), but I doubt they could lure him into a fight

blah blah blah problem is some folk who have been shoutin hatton ducked witter for so long nowhave holes being picked in this theory which makes them look stupid as for years its been a repetitive mantra to knock hatton for five years.

the truth usually comes out in the wash and im sure it will on this but intitial grumblings dont look great for the anti hatton crew. :TU:

oh, thats right dennis.

whereas the evil hatton has only his own interests at heart.....

the benevolent witter is just all about the fans, isn't he? what a long series of classic wars he gave us lucky boxing fans.

no wonder he's so popular amongst us. and aren't we all lucky that he's been thinking of us, all this time.
