Also. Checkhook. The wbu challengers were not better than witter. Hatton knew witter would derail him and that meant no bug paydays for Hatton
Disgusting episode In Hattons career.

I wasn't saying he was lying, I was trying to point out to PN that it came from a reliable source.J wrote:IN PRINT IN BOXING MONTHLY...dont you think there might be a law suit if that wasnt the case?states wrote:Well Bunce must be lying about it then.
I appreciate what everyones saying about Hatton Witter, but at the end of the day Hatton isn't going to be remembered for his WBU fights, he went well beyond that level and well beyond Witter's level. This idea that Hatton spent his career avoiding Witter doesn't hold much weight when you consider what Hatton did and who he fought. If you keep winning you quickly become unavoidable. Witter fell at every hurdle. Good British boxer with some credible wins on the world stage but far from the fighter he has sometimes been painted to be off the back of Hatton.DG. wrote: Also. I'm sure Witter would have happily taken 500k (which would be 5-10%) for the fight. And I doubt he ever asked for purse parrity, Buncey probably got that from the HattonsJ wrote:incorrectDG. wrote:Not lying. Just got the wrong info.states wrote:Well Bunce must be lying about it then.
Hatton's WBU run did not coincide with Witter's WBC.MrBoxingUK2 wrote:![]()
fatton defended his wbu title like 20 times instead of fighting witter for the wbc. what a joke
This is edging into Spud territory.twenty six wrote:Actually my source wasn't Steve and that's why my eyebrows were raised.
If twenty six heard it,it was possibly from someone on the Sheffield boxing scene and probably true...twenty six wrote:Actually my source wasn't Steve and that's why my eyebrows were raised.
Well it likely would have been worth that after the Mayweather fight or at least 5mil and it could have happened then, certainly would have been a bigger homecoming than Lazcano. Maybe Witter did want purse parrity at 1 stage when he was Brit/Euro/Commonwealth Champ and Hatton was WBU, but he even said during that period he'd take it for free 1 time and 100k another time, so it certainly could have been madetwenty six wrote:I have to laugh when someone says £500k reflecting 5% !!!
Are you for real, Phenomenal ?
If you seriously think that Hatton v Witter would have grossed £10 mill back in the day, you are so wide of the mark.
Oliver - never compare me to Spud for any nod and winks !
Look I have always been a staunch Witter fan.
I firmly believed that Hatton was using issues to avoid fighting Junior at the time and that Junior had the perfect style to beat him.
Now I'm not too sure.
I think Junior assumed he was an equal attraction to Hatton, and we all know that he brings little to the table - ticket sales etc.
I hear lots and lots of stuff - as I'm sure you do.
I rarely quote any of it on here, but when I heard this as far as I'm concerned it's worthy of bringing it up.
I don't give a flying f**k about letting the world know who I've met, whether my ball's bigger than your ball and I'm sure you are the same.
Apart from that Spudster is the ugliest f**ker on the planet with no O Levels.
No comparison.

Witter Vs HAtton at Welter would be good for the Brits, but whwn has tht ever mattered to Hatton?
