Interesting interview on maxboxing with eastman.

Unlike previous interviews, eastman seems to have ditched the 'I was robbed' version of events, and stated that there were a lot of goings on 'behind the scenes' that led him to a 'false sense of security.'

I'm not sure how to interpret that. maybe he's looked at fight tapes and seen that he didn't do enough to win it, or he realises that that line isn't going to wash too well, interesting that he's changed his line.

He seemed determined, but I'm not sure whether he really believed that Hopkins isn't the #1 p4p, perhaps he was trying to not give him too much credit, after all he's there to beat him.

Thing is, I can remember 'how determined' Eastman was to beat Joppy. I recall footage on Sky of him training in hurricanes and really hostile weather and how nothing was going to stop him.

Except an unimpressive William Joppy....

Mmm I'll have to watch the fight again, the only thing I can interpret from that was one of two things.

1) Don King gave him lots of "big promises" and he assumed that only a KO would cost him the fight.

2) His cornermen at the time where potraying that he was winning the fight handily.

God when I read something like that it reminds me what a corrupt sport boxing is.

James you're obviously biased but is maxboxing any good? Been thinking about signing up but not sure if its worth the money - what sort of stuff is on there?

it's good mainly for the world scene, you get a lot of videos and interviews which you don't get as a non-member. There's also a lot of articles which get unlocked. when you consider it's only what 2.50 a month, I reckon it's worth it. I get my membership for free because I write for them, but honestly I think it's pretty cheap.
