It has to be Maidana or another decent name to justify the PPV. Another hand picked light hitter will not do.

I suppose he would do seeing as he's just beat Diaz and he's been in with some very good names, but he'd be right at the very bottom of my acceptable list due to him being a light-puncher. It's going to be very very difficult to beat Khan if you can't stop him IMO

In fact no, fcuk it. Paulie ain't acceptable, he'd just be another in a long line of hand-picked light-punching opponents.

Bradley, Campbell, Maidana, Alexander, Holt, Urango, Casamayor, Holt, Witter, Hatton, ..... those are the type of fights that I think will be moving forward fights for Amir

I agree Chambers it has to be Maidana for me. If fights in USA can't see it being ppv.

It's frustrating, because I love to watch him fight, but it's difficult to defend a boxer when he chucks his title in the bin rather than face a dangerous opponent who deserves his mandatory spot.

I hate hearing the words 'high risk/low reward' (or Bunces version of it 'Cash common sense'), because it always results in the boxing fan getting shafted. What happened to fighting for the prestige rather than the money

Maidana defence surely lead to bigger fights than beating a washed up Morales!

he should have fought maidana on december 5th when he beat salita. the wba are a shocking organisation. making him fight two mandatory's is stupid. i doubt khan would have fought maidana anyway..did anybody hear khans interview on "on the ropes" boxing radio show in america?? he said he wants to fight maidana. then also seemed like he really wanted the nate campbell fight. he is just as dangerous and is a big puncher. i think maidana is perfect for khan to be honest. you can see maidana's punches coming from a mile away. khan would box his head off and stop him i think. but we will never knw!

How do you know it's Khan who's doing the ducking, Fwanky is the one with millions of pounds invested in him. :geek:

Its all speculation at the moment .. Roach has only said he doesn`t fancy the Maidana fight. Not that they are not taking it for definite.

If he gives the belt up, rather than fight Maidana ...

Then only a fight against one of the other major belt holders will do ... Malignaggi will not be anywhere sufficient as a replacement.

Khan has avoided the best guys at his weight in Britain .. he is now a world title belt holder. Who has basically fought nobody at the weight of any real significance. Lets hope his people decide its now time he does.

One thing is for sure though. Roach has as much confidence in Khans chin as most of us on here :OhYes:

Couple of things from that Link. Does Dan Rafel write that much every weekend? If so that’s amazing. Secondly, Toney v Tarver in the spring, hopefully JT can put a beatdown on Antonio. Thirdly and most worringly of all, Toney is considering a UFC bout?!? Uh oh.

Toney should beat Taver at heavyweight. Also I noticed that Haye fight scheduled for April 3rd. Who would be on the undercard?

Read somewere that booth was trying to get adamu over to fight groves for the commonwealth title that would make for a decent undercard fight although i'd expect groves to walk away a clear winner based on adamus showing against dilks.

In a way I dont blame him, another KO loss against an unknown is going to ruin his career. Maidana brings plenty of risk and little reward.

Khan should be lobbying to get a Mayweather fight if Mayweathers available, worst case he gets schooled and stopped while picking up a big cheque and the best case is he beats the best in the world. Failing that he should chase Hatton or Marquez, both massive names

Roland rat in with Mayweather jr.?????

He gets brutally stopped .. his boxing skills are nowhere close to Floyds ... so he ain`t gonna be able to stay out of the way for long. And Mayweather is pretty under-rated in the punch dept. Floyd would look devastatingly heavy handed against chinny Khan.
