In this one he is coming in as an opponent, if he had the right team around him like FW he'd win alot of Title's at Fly...

How good is Micheal Walsh ? coz if he aint the Bollox he's getting Beat..

So, "Night of the WBO International Champion" is a better name for the event.

That would be one of the wembley ones. Wembley central I think for the tube and wembley stadium rail station, but it's all right there when you get off.

Good post- and it's good to be discussing the fights.

I saw Bailey win on TV recently- he looked a capable fighter- but looking at his record, he might lack power. This, in realistic terms means he needs to CLEARLY dominate the fight to win. If the fight is close, watch out for, surprise surprise, a "hometown" decision for the prospect.

Likewise, Ali- Michael Walsh is an agressive, come forward fighter (not exactly an expert on defence) , but I think that would be enought to give him the rounds on the refs card.

Also, watch out for premature stoppages.... (IE the fight being stopped a little too soon inf avour of te hometown boxers)

Good luck to both Bailey and Ali- I hope they do win- but I honestly can't see it.

Wembley Park on Metropolitan Line.

Overground is Wembley Stadium. Don't go t Wembley Central, it's a 20 minute walk

My ticket was 40 quid (or will be once I've paid MacTavish) and considering on the night I'll have to shell out for train fare etc I'm wondering if just best to cut losses and not bother going.

Tried for a refund but they spouted the 'subject to change' nonsense.

Mr warren, this is the last time you're getting money out of me.
That disclaimer is OK in principle because this sport more than any others carries with it the risk of late changes, but I think there should be some cut-off pointn when refunds become available. In this instance, precisely ZERO of the originally announced bouts (Williams-Sexton, Chisora-Skelton, Brook-Jennings) are now taking place. If this was any other form of entertainment, even allowing for unforeseen circumstances, you'd get a refund. Otherwise what's to stop a promoter selling tickets for Mayweather-Pacquaio and then eventually delivering Peter Buckley v Karl Taylor for the same price? After all, it's "subject to change".

Yes wembley park is within a 5 minute walk and is direct. Only advantage to Wembley Central is the pubs on the way up are quieter if thats an issue... you can also get a bus from there which takes 10 mins or so (traffic dependent), you'd want the 297, I think the 182 goes that route too. wembley park is the best bet though.

Reckon the tickets'll be the same price on the door? No 2 for 1 offers...?
In London on Sat, but not stumping up for a mediocre bill.

Its actually a good bill.European title, plus Gavin in a decent test(that most people on here were looking forward to).The only trouble is,its not at all what was originally announced and the "Night of Champions" tag now looks a bit stupid.Apart from that,if you stick to the lower priced tickets(with chance of an upgrade),its not a bad bill.

No, on its own merits it's not a bad bill. But then again, a McDonalds chesseburger isn't bad either, so long as that was what you expected to get when you paid for it. But if you paid for a steak and got a cheeseburger, with no chance of a refund, you'd probably be upset.

Wonder if Chisora will try to take a bite out of the fridge. It would be funny if Baker won, but in another sense terrible.

How do you go about getting an upgrade then? Do you just get there early and ask the stewards? I have the cheap seats and obviously want to get as close to the action as possible :box:

They'll usually tell you, if tickets havent sold lower down they tend to move the cheap seats forward to create an atmosphere and to make the place look full.

Thats from my experience.

European title is OK, but it looks heavily in favour of Cleverley - a bit one sided, which I expect the fight to be.

It is an OK bill, but nothing special.

it's all fallen on it's arse and mitchell has been given a relative no name.

yep.

why couldn't they get in someone like barrera.

barrera came over here for khan and i don't see the offers flooding in stateside for him.

but instead of that it's a small name opponent who no one really cares about.

barrera helped give khan his biggest attendence so far.

it could have done the same for mitchell.
