Clinching in and of itself is not an illegal tactic, but excessive holding is.

Yep it was my assumption that the word "clinching" was meant to represent your descriptor.

But I originally voted for what I thought was the worst infraction absenmindedly. A state of mind I find myself in quite often come to think of it.

I rather have my opponent hold me than hit me on the break or when I'm down like a famous fighter from the fifties did.

Clinching isent really a foul IMO as long as it doesent cross over to holding and stalling.
Fighting in the clinch is an art, an under appreciated one to boot :)
