You left out "shoving."
p.s. I notice "hitting your opponent when he's down" has already racked up one vote. Must be a Foreman fan.![[icon_e_biggrin.gif] :D](./images/smilies/icon_e_biggrin.gif)

Clinching in and of itself is not an illegal tactic, but excessive holding is.

But I originally voted for what I thought was the worst infraction absenmindedly. A state of mind I find myself in quite often come to think of it.

I rather have my opponent hold me than hit me on the break or when I'm down like a famous fighter from the fifties did.

When does clinching become holding ?
Re: Which "Illegal" Tactic Is The Most Benign?
It depends on the 'damage' done...all have consequences.

Clinching isent really a foul IMO as long as it doesent cross over to holding and stalling.
Fighting in the clinch is an art, an under appreciated one to boot :)
