this is absolute horse turd, itv will not show this live
Re: According to the Daily Mirror,Khan/Malignaggi will be on ITV
Yeah, re-runs of what was originally a live broadcast are generally not too bad (watching something on You tube, or taped by a friend etc.)Flump wrote:I agree if it's done later commentary but years ago a whole generation of fight fans was born largely through delayed TV broadcasts with Reg or Harry there live. I remember Hagler vs Hearns, Mugabi and Leonard were shown primetime on a delayed basis, as well as Sunday repeats of Tyson defences and Mickey Duff shows on the BBC, boxing on free TV is the way forward if we want youngsters to get into the sport, IMHO.whicker wrote:Delayed is a waste of time. Even if you have the willpower to avoid the result, the endless advert breaks and shitty "done later" commentary total ruin the spectacle. Moreover, it just doesn't "feel" right .
It's still not "the same" though. Watching something without knowing the result , several hours after it has happened- just seems.. odd. Virtually anything of note now is broadcast live.

They could easily show it live and delayed. For one thing, many people would probably watch it twice, and what else would they be showing at that time in the morning anyway?
In a general sense it is also good news because it shows that ITV is still interested in boxing to some degree.

Look, if anyone enjoys watching Fights as-live the next day because it wasn't live in their country - knowing that the rest of the world has just watched it Live the night prior....
I say Bullshit

Seems you aren't alone in thinking that although I think he is a nice enough guy from what I have seen.leforge wrote:But khan not very likeable person IMO
I just think he is just a bit slow. He also seems a bit uncomfortable at times when talking to the press etc.

His pr will be worse now that warren not involved! I still don't think this end up on itv. If it's delayed, it depends when delayed is. If they showed it as live at 9 or 10am, that could get a lot of viewers.
I've met Khan lots of times and he is a very nice guy.

I think the issue with showing it live is costs.glahn wrote:They could easily show it live and delayed. For one thing, many people would probably watch it twice, and what else would they be showing at that time in the morning anyway?
I'd imagine a delayed show is much cheaper to do- basically, buy the footage of one off the companies who showed it live, and commentating to a tape recorder etc.
Re: According to the Daily Mirror,Khan/Malignaggi will be on ITV
It's not that big.
Khan carries some weight but not enough to keep them coming back ... unless a credible Malignaggi stoppage is possible out here.

Re: According to the Daily Mirror,Khan/Malignaggi will be on ITV
Given his change of promoters, it would seem that Khan himself perhaps isn't greatly interested in being on UK TV- but then, who knows?
It would be weird going from a pay per view world champ to someone just being shown on delay. 8)

Re: According to the Daily Mirror,Khan/Malignaggi will be on ITV
it would show his commitment to his UK fans and when he does come and fight over here he may make the fight be at a more reasonable time for uswhicker wrote:Given his change of promoters, it would seem that Khan himself perhaps isn't greatly interested in being on UK TV- but then, who knows?

I think he's entitled to make as much dough as he can - that on a large level needs to be done in the US on PPV.Adamj1987 wrote:it would show his commitment to his UK fans and when he does come and fight over here he may make the fight be at a more reasonable time for uswhicker wrote:Given his change of promoters, it would seem that Khan himself perhaps isn't greatly interested in being on UK TV- but then, who knows?
