Spot on, Spud.

My pal rang up Carl Thompson the day after he beat Haye.

His mrs answered. "No, he's not in I'm afraid. He's doing the shopping down at Asda."

Wales, I'm struggling to think of the biggest pudendum.....most have been ok, do you remember Gary Sykes was ok but very immature? Still a decent lad though.

Witter was probably the most arrogant....I'll rack my brains but nobody springs to mind! The person least in love with the sport I've spoken to was probably Gary Lockett.

LOL! Eastman was class. Who knew what he was going to come out with next. I'm not sure if he was playing up for the cameras, or if it was real....?

Spot on!!!

Now he was terrible - he would give one worded answers - even though I was part of the team I remember trying to do something for a website when he was fighting some Frenchman in Norwich - he kept on being dry so I told to stop f*cking me around - he gave me that look of - speak to me like that again the night before a fight and I will give you a rib tickler!!! - saying that though he had a chuckle and then gave me some good answers -

A very complex character - almost on the lines of Chris Eubank.

howard eastman was plain embarassing, his accent would change from london to guyanese to yank all in the one interview while spinning his head in diffrent directions away from the camera like some ape man :!:

James Toney is definitely a good answer to this question.

jim grey & larry merchant allways seem to normally chastise exhausted fighters, it's good to see them disrespected every now & then :DD

I always thought Gary Richardson was a shite post match interviewer (that's the actual job title.)

Then boxing went onto ITV and Gabriel Clarke did the backstage interviewing, and the words 'total shite' just didn't do him justice.

Classic!

Hurlock, this isn't meant as a dig, but you might have thought that it was embarrasing, but I found him fascinating and I know many others did too, it made him stand out - having Eastman on BBC to the public, many of my mates who weren't really into boxing would say "is that the guy with the beard", he seemed to bring something to boxing that not many other UK fighters did, this would stand out to the average guy who was into boxing, the sort of guy that knows Hatton and Haye, but no-one else. He didn't seem to have a fan base and never got lucky on the big stage, which meant he would never get the exposure, this is a shame as I think he had the potential to.

I remember a Scandinavian guy on here called Helephant - he was obsessed about him, bar Hatton and Calzaghe, I don't think that many other UK boxers have really captured peoples imagination like Eastman did in recent times, he's certainly one of the main reasons that I got into boxing.

I've read that Calzaghe went to train with Eastman back in the day, after a few days of getting battered he got home sick and had to go back to Wales, not sure if this is true or not??

I just wish Eastman could have gone that extra mile, I am sure that if he did have a massive fan base, he could have bought a lot of fans to the US and swayed the judges to give him the Joppy fight, this could have then transformed him into a World Champion, rather than the guy who just couldn't cut the mustard at world level...

Spud, I think it was the Abraham fight, Eastman's cutman was shouting at him telling him to up his game - Eastman then said to him to "stop shouting at me",he soon shut up! :-)

The Joppy fight, was classic, where Eastman pretended to be hurt by a shot and dropped his hands to the ground, rather than looking hurt he looks like he's doing some crazy robotic dance.

I use to enjoy watching Jon Thaxton's interviews on the Big Fight when he use to fight as he was very passionate and very honest.

Eamon Magee... You won't find many men more arrogant. :shame:

Brian Magee on the other hand is quite chatty especially about the Super Middleweight division. :TU:

Clarke has got to have one of the coolest dad's of anyone associated with boxing!
