Froch v Kessler judges... ref from Reid vs Ottke

Post by whiskey »

Roger Tilleman is one and Daniel Van de Wiele from Belgium and Guido Cavalleri Italy.

Tilleman is the bent ref from the Reid vs Ottke fights.

I hope Hennessy makes an appeal to have him replaced. He is one of the most blatently biased referees I have ever seen. He was basically warning Reid for hitting Ottke! :witzend:

Volcanoes, dodgy officials, what next for the Cobra? This will be one of the best British away wins ever If he pulls this off. Not a massive Froch fan but he does it the hard way I'll give him that!

The two belgium judges are big pals too. Often on the same fights together and i think it's bad news. Officiated many a German fight together.

The Italian is good enough, he was on Froch vs Pascal, so is an experienced WBC ref.

Never seems simple, injuries, Denis Inkin oulling out twice etc.

Now we had Copenhagen, then moved to Herning, then date moved from 17th to 24th after everyone had bought flights, then a volcano bringing down the skyways (who predicted that one) and now we have the most corrupt joker on the judging panel.

Kessler is pretty genuine imo. Ordinarily I wouldn't expect him to block the changing of officials, but this is the make or break fight of his career. He's coming of a loss and will take every advantage he can.

Froch is the Champ though, so surely he can veto the judges if he smells foul?

I can remember being very pissed off in that fight. But I think it was Jim Neilly commentating and one bit did make me laugh, Reid had been warned countless times for some ridiculous non existent misdemeanors and then Ottke got warned for hitting bit low and Neilly said 'Oh finally hes warning Ottke, yeah Sven keep em up will you pet'

I suddenly found myself trying to imagine a bearded Belgian bloke saying that.

carl has already had 1 favour off the judges in this tournament. ;;-)

i think froch must have got word on it.

Am i correct in thinking that Kessler needs a ko to stay in the competition,if so that could make it more interesting, still think he is on the slide though and think it will be froch's night, won't be aesy though.

Am really excited about this fight, but hugely dissapointed to learn that joker is a judge. He was as bent as a £9 in the Otke-Reid fight. Was it ever investigated?

Is it 3 points for a ko and 2 for a points win

Tilleman - corrupt or utterly, utterly incompetent re Ottke v Reid, take your pick - has been judging plenty lately and I can't remember him handing in a scandalous sheet.

Darling little Svennie was a different kettle.

Incompetent my arse, he was paid to prevent Reid from fighting, simple as. Ottke was on the retirement leg of his tour, and his promoters wanted to ensure he kept his title.

There are few blatantly corrupt events in boxing, but that one was as plain as a cauliflower ear.

Well, I couldn't possibly comment as time only allows me to deal with a certain amount of legal proceedings. 8)

Let's just say I remember us dissecting this at the time, helped by some inside info from your good self.
