Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
I notice this has now been pulled from the boxrec schedule, it would have been nice to know why this fight is no longer happening by the promoter. ![[icon_witsend.gif] :witzend:](./images/smilies/icon_witsend.gif)
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
no venue was ever announced, tickets sold - don't think it was ever on tbh. ![[icon_shame.gif] :shame:](./images/smilies/icon_shame.gif)
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
watching what little the title did for witter & froch you couldn't blame tyson if he weighed his options up a bit..MachoMan09 wrote:How long does Fury have left on his contract with Mick Hennessy? If he sticks with Brian Hughes, I can see him becoming a FW fighter.
Then again...would frank want him? McDermott exposed Tyson somewhat before...
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
Hughes newer prospects ala Quigg,Roberts, barker and Askin are with hatton so cant see that.MachoMan09 wrote:How long does Fury have left on his contract with Mick Hennessy? If he sticks with Brian Hughes, I can see him becoming a FW fighter.
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
Fury would have to be stir crazy to go with SN
. Warren's track record with heavyweights is laughable.
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
This news is no surprise. Quite a few people have said they can't see Fury taking it at the moment. It'll be interesting to see what Fury does now. His activity has really slowed and his last two opponents were terrible.
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
Fury's activity hasn't ddropped off Hennessey's have with no tv deal he is left in the lurch the only thing keeping him going is Carl in the super 6 if he fails to progress from the group stages Hennessey is in real trouble no tv deal no money coming in and prospects like Murray Barker and Fury who should all be pushing on for titles of osme sort will get picked up by Hearn and Hatton. Witter would leave but he isnt going to go with the Hattons anytime soon and Warren won't take him back so he really has nowhere to go. Once Barker or Murray leaves there will be an exodus. If Carl retires in the next few years hennessey will have nobody left because he has been left in the lurch with no tv deal and no way of staging shows or paying fighters. If he was clever he would have got this on the undercard in Denamrk of Kessler Froch

Activity as in how often he fights, not his work rate.wrimc wrote:Fury's activity hasn't ddropped off Hennessey's have with no tv deal he is left in the lurch the only thing keeping him going is Carl in the super 6 if he fails to progress from the group stages Hennessey is in real trouble no tv deal no money coming in and prospects like Murray Barker and Fury who should all be pushing on for titles of osme sort will get picked up by Hearn and Hatton. Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
He can't have sustained another injury prior to the fight he had to reliquinish the belt because he has been plagued with hand and back injuries since he joined the paid ranks has he? But as for activity since December 2008 he has 10 fights in 17 months which is quite busy in my book despite the fact he has had problems getting good quality sparing here in the UK because of his reputation and the problems he has had his hand and back.
I too was looking forward as well I thought the purse bids etc and have gone through and I think he would have won it as he would have had the fantastic incentive of being number 1 for the British title which has been one of his ambitions. But I am still looking forward to seeing return to the ring whenever that maybe.

His activity was excellent.IRLangmaid25 wrote:He can't have sustained another injury prior to the fight he had to reliquinish the belt because he has been plagued with hand and back injuries since he joined the paid ranks has he? A fight a month from Dec-08 to May-09
A fight every 2 months from May-09 to Sep-09
1 fight since September 2009! That's 1 fight in around 7 months.

I thought this fight had to happen whether Fury wanted it or not. I just dont understand what is going on. Anyway I dont think Fury is going anywhere. You need to beat people like McD with ease if you want a World title. Fury lost the fight but got the win with a contraversial decision by the ref.

He's done alright for Danny Williams over the years.
He made a silk purse out of a sow's ear with Skelton.
etc...
You can only work with what there is available. It's not his fault our heavies have been a bit gash over the years.
Alright he missed out on Lennox
He got Matt Skelton a world title shot!!

You can always look these things up if you're unsure: http://boxrec.com/
sorry to sound stupid again but what section do i go to?
Re: Tyson Fury v John McDermott 22 May is off
You could go to 'name' and do a search from there: http://boxrec.com/search.phpJesus wrote:Asterix wrote:Yes, it was Chagaev.![]()

or
you could click on the heavyweight category (see below) and change the form options accordingly

or
you could click on 'ratings' and go from there: http://boxrec.com/ratings.php
If I were you'd I'd have a browse around the site and get acquainted. You can find some cool things.
If you're looking for a particular boxer, the simplest thing is to type their name plus 'boxrec' into Google.
e.g. http://www.google.co.uk/#hl=en&source=h ... 06d40aec82 (first link)
