The real reason HAYE is delaying fighting with the Klits

Post by FLINT ISLAND »

Haye has picked up the WBA World Heavyweight title -

Since then Hayes Celebrity has increased greatly - on magazine covers - at award shows and red carpet events - endorsement deals - A list Celeb Circuit - main stream fans recognising him on the street - Sky Box Office fighter - packed arenas - and expensive promotions, etc, etc

You know - all the good stuff that comes with success.

Since becoming WBA Champion and with his higher status - he now realises - he can make 7 figure purses by fighting the likes of John Ruiz or Audely Harrison or whoever.

All of a sudden now - he dosent need a Klitshchko to gain Champion status or increase his bank balance.

Of course if he fought either Klitshcko brother and won that would increase his status as a unified champion and of course his bank balance even more but the risk is too great.

So for now he is happy to be just the WBA Champ and pick up 7 figure purses fighting the likes of John Ruiz and Audely Harrison.

Expect this trend to continue for the next few David Haye fights as he carefully selects his opponnets and builds his bank balance - enjoying his time as Champion.

When he is finally ready to cash in all his chips - - then he will be ready to face the Klitshckos - but it wont be any time in the next 12-18 months. And hopefully both brothers have aged and even retired by then.

Why are people giving Haye so much credit as he "never ducked a challenge - he will lay it all on the line"

Haye went to France and Germany and laid it on the line - because he had to then - he was the challenger.

Now he is the Champ and making the big money - its fair to say I think he is not this "fight anyone anytime" hero that naive British Boxing Fans like to think he is.

The bottom line is Haye knows he has only a medoirce chance to beat the Klitshcko brothers and knows very well he could be ironed out by either brother.

So he is just playing it smart - make excuses - delay fighting them - and make money in the mean time - after Audely Harrison expect him to fight someone like Tony Thompson after that in a Sky Box Office event for a 7 figure purse.

So much for David Haye wanting the Klitshcko brothers and promising to spend his career seeking out the biggest and most dangerous challenges

He has sold out to money and commercial success :TU:

I dont blame him, i dont mind to be honest aslong as he fights one of them after a few fights to pad his wallet.

I know what you are saying.

And I cant say I blame him either - make your money first - and then cash in all your chips at the end in a fight you will probaly lose.

Its the smart way to play it.

My main point is - actually a dig at naive British Boxing Fans - who actually think David Haye is a "lay it all on the line - fight anyone at anytime" hero who is gagging at the leash to fight Wlad or Vitali
-
Not the case at all

I do believe he actaully intially wanted to fight Wlad - because he needed him

But then he realised there was a easier route to the title - in Valuev - and since then he knows he dosent need the Klits to be Champ and become rich

Naive British Boxing Fans - thinks Haye just wants the most dangerous challenges - if so he would fight Wlad or Vitali next

But as we can see - he has sold out to min risk / max finicial reward - ratio.

You got to give credit to Wlad and Vitali as well.

They are true sportsmen and warriors - and have been willing to meet the challenge of David Haye.

I'm sick of people slagging of the Klit brothers - they are decent guys - and Haye has been a disgrace in his abuse towards the brothers - only to duck out of fighting them.

Either brother will beat David within 6 rounds and he knows it. The guy struggled to get Ruiz out of the ring and his bombs arent as good at hw. Yes Wlad has a dodgy chin, so does Haye, but they will just jab David's face to a pulp.

Why fight them when he can face the likes of Audrey Harrison and other old past it boxers.

Make your money David then retire with your senses, he always looked at boxing as a business, doubt he cares about legacy

Bullshit post.....

Then why would he have targeted Mormeck and fought Enzo at cruiser?

He's already a two weight world champ.

Flint - you're pathetic btw, get a life and leave Haye alone for a bit. Comment on a different thread!

I think he boxed Mormeck because it was the only viable option. He was already the European champ and still not selling out small venues. The Maccarinelli fight was not even considered a gamble by Haye/Booth,i have never known a boxer so genuinely confident going into a supposed 50/50 match up.And he got a massive payday for it.The Barret bout flopped at the box office and then came the Valuev opportunity, which again,Haye/Booth knew if they got it right tactically,Valuev wouldnt lay a glove on him.It was only risky considering where it was.Ruiz, again, was never going to beat Haye.Haye has been superbly managed up to now, precisely the reason he will have a couple of "easy" paydays before cashing out against a Klitschko.

That's a lot of ifs, buts and maybes....

He still beat them all, and while we all know Haye was confident - and is confident - going into fights - he still has to do a job, and nobody can argue the jobs he did on Mormeck and Mac were impressive. And brave, and thrilling....

I don't understand why, on a British boxing forum, two quality world champs in Khan and Haye get so much stick from posters for avoiding people.

Give them a break!

Ruiz was dismantled by Haye last time out and Khan gave Malignaggi no chance.

Get behind them for goodness sake....

He targeted Momeck to fufil his goal of being NO 1 Crusierweight Champion - what else was he gonna do - just carry on defending his EBU title in front of 400 people at London Lesiure Centre. He was hungry to win them WBC / WBA titles.

He was happy to move up then to heavyweight - he had no reason to fight Maccarenelli - he didnt want the WBO title - that is until Warren saw his chance to buy Enzo the titles - and offered Haye by far his biggest purse ever of £800,000 to defend against Enzo - Haye saw it as easy money - and so it was.

But now he is earning 7 figure purses fighting Ruiz or Audely or Tony Thompson after that - why get beat up and lose his title to a Klitschko - its all going to smoothly for that.

Haye is not the fearless - risk everything warrior - he is a calculated businessman - he took risks against Mormeck and Vaulev becaue he had too.

He knows at this moment in time there is no point foolishly taking a risk against a Klitschko.

Mormeck and Mac punch like heavyweights, that's arguably their biggest attribute, so I don't understand the contradiction.

He was hungry, now he isn't hungry......he was fearless, now he isn't fearless.

He's beaten the giant Valuev (who many had to KO him) and destroyed Ruiz...give him a break, he'll fight them all.

Haye is very much fixed on keeping his title and making as much money out of it as possible - I don`t blame him one bit. This is after all, Proffesional boxing .. once you have made enough money, then think about legacy if you so care :TU:

To any impartial boxing fan. Haye is nothing more than a belt holder .. much the same as Gavin Rees when he wore the Lt-welter belt ... good, but far from the best in the division :-?

Some on here do spout about Haye being the best in the division .. or a breath of fresh air and saviour of the heavies ... some claim Naz was `da best ever` also .... nuff said .........

The armchair fan may go for the Haye hype .. the real follower of the sport knows what it is...

Remain with his senses? It the Klitschko brothers we're talking about not Sonny Liston.
In todays heavyweight division they are both very good fighters but for all their physical and technical advantages they are hardly aggressive fighters are they

Its true - if he hadnt of fought Enzo - people would have said he was avoiding his main British rival - but he fought him - for big money / not much risk - as people were saying it was a 50/50 fight but Haye and Booth were confident they were a level above Enzo.

However now he is in a position where he is making million pound paydays and lots of commercial deals sponsers off the the back of being WBA Heavyweight Champion.

Why would he want to risk losing his title / unbeaten run against a Klitshcko ?

He will fight them - but only when he is ready to cash his chips in. (so not in the next 12-18 months)

Maybe thats the case = maybe he will just wait until the Klitshckos retire and then try to pick up the vacant titles.

I think after he got Ruiz out the way as a Mandatrory - then we would really see what David Hayes intentions are judging by his next fight selection.

Now its looking like it will be Audely - it shows that this guy is now just milking the title and money.

Fair play - make your money David - but your not the heavyweight saviour / Klitschko slayer that everyone was kidded to believe.

Yes - remain with his senses = he said it right fella.

Wlad punches harder than Lennox Lewis - according to Emanuel Stweard.

Vitali had enough power to brush aside a smiliar heavyweight as Haye in Herbie Hide.

And Haye as pissed them off so much that Vitali reckons Wlad will keep him in there till late on. Imagine 12 rounds of hard jabs all night long

He will regret it and he knows it
