Exactly mate. Which still leaves the reason why Magee pulled out an hour before the purse bids were opened, a mystery :TU:
Very curious indeed...!
this was my initial reaction, why pull out an hour before the bids were due, and now backed up by the fact there is no promotor tie in, it is a head scratcher!

That's cricket, innit.
Just got to get on with it and look to the next opponent and date. Magee knows why he pulled out even if we all don't.
The fact that he is now scraping the barrel looking for the Prizefighter winner speaks volumes - If I fought the winner whoever it was out of the 8, I'd be slated

Internet forums aren't the place to slag fighters off and it's not my style so I won't do it.
I respect Brian Magee, but a little bit less now :TU:

In all fairness a philosophical attitude is probably the best way to go. If Magee didn't want it, then that is his lookout.

The thing that is hard for us fans to understand is the whys and ins and outs, but it seems to be that it is even left to the boxer's imagination the reasons why these things happen sometimes! :TU:

Have you ever heard of Publicity. From what i read magee didnt want the smigga fight due to a certain promoter wanting a 5 fight tie up of the winner, allegedly.
Magee sorely wanted Smiggas WBA 4 rank.
Err. you don't get options with purse bids so that's totally wrong. Magee pulled out 1 hour before purse bids so with nothing else lined up what does that tell you?

You can for a mandatory if you agree to it but not in a purse bid situation which is only if you don't agree terms.
