heh. me and deno agree, here. I think that at least A-Muz would give J-Muz the most interesting fight he's had at title level, a better fight than Thaxton Buckland or former 2-time world champ lee McAllister gave him. nice clash of styles, would be an interesting little fight IMO

A-Muz would beat Buckland, McAllister and Thaxton as well but J-Muz is beyond that level now and was when he fought them as well.

probably true on both points. although i will only believe J-Muz's level being higher when he has hammered a European level fighter.

would it suprise you greatly if J-Muz's next opponent isn't any better than Buckland et al?

SBW, what have you got against Andy Murray? Do you dislike him or just not rate him?
I think he's well-schooled and definitely improving and I'd give him a great shout against John Murray.

How could you dislike A-Muz? The guy is the least offensive guy on the planet. I had a wee drunken rant at him in Limerick that he wasnt aggresive enough and lacked confidence and he didnt hold it against me the next day.

I wish him well but he aint on J-Muz's level if I am honest.

Do you regularly 'rant' at undefeated pro boxers with sterling amateur records when you're drunk?!

Christ Apollo, you were asking for peoples opinions on Andy Murray and when someone doesn't agree with your's, it automatically means they dislike Andy Murray.

Yep, we discussed this before and I also think the clash of styles could be interesting. I'm not saying A.Murray would win but he has the ability to pose some questions of John.

Hopefully Peters has something decent lined up for Andy, nearly 28, has an impressive looking record but one which holds a lack of substance. Time to step up and fight a top 5 European lightweight - Mezzache will be coming back from the States with his tail between his legs after dropping the EBU belt only to be stopped in 8 against a journeyman. Andy vs Mezzache, winner fights John Murray.

its certainly an unflattering trait, I agree, and one which is rather ill advised should one cherish ones good health and handsome unblemished youthful features. I tend to avoid it to be honest but sometimes get carried away - my heart was in the right place though.

Like I have said Andy is a very decent fighter and certainly improved considerably in the last year but is not on the same level of Murray. A-Muz is a classy upright boxer but is still relatively untested and I dont think his jab is strong enough to hold off J-Muz.

slappy you keep abbout talking J-Muz's higher level, i still say that remains to be proven, and banging former 2-weight world champ McAllister about doesn't prove it IMO

Its not who he has been per se but how he beat them and how he has looked beating them. I dare say I have seen more of A-Muz then yourself Cp (could be wrong) but I think J-Muz would overwhelm him.

I did say that A-Muz would also beat Buckland et al

No, deno, my point is that SBW is a huge fan of Irish boxing, has his own website and regularly comes on bigging up relatively poor Irish fighters.
I start a thread about a good one and his immediate response is 'no, close thread'.
Something odd there in my opinion!

Next time you start a thread about some part-Irish bum living in Manchester, I'll come on and say 'close thread'.
Deal?

yer a classy guy Apollo.

Since you are moaning like a premenstral biatch lets look at what I said.

PROS -

A-Muz would beat Buckland

A-Muz would beat McAllister

A-Muz would beat Thaxton

A-Muz is the least offensive guy on the planet

A-Muz has improved considerably in the last year

A-Muz is a classy upright boxer

CONS -

A-Muz is a level below J-Muz

A-Muz lack aggresion and confidence

A-Muz is still relatively untested

If you object to any of the points I've made then lets hear you, no need to have a pop at other fighter - not cool!

It's your initial reaction:
'No. Close thread'.
Strange that a huge Irish boxing fan would react like that to a thread about an exciting Irish boxer.
Yes, you backtracked since, but just thought that was odd, seeing as I don't recall you ever dismissing any other Irish boxer like that before, however awful they are (and some are).
I agree totally that he is untested. John Murray is also untested.
Thaxton's shot isn't he? What's he at now?

I've backtracked on nothing - I foolishly pandered to you whinging like Pommy baby thats all.

Here is what I am saying - if A-Muz gets in the ring with J-Muz anytime soon he is going to he a beat of Buckland proportions - if you think that makes me "less of an Irish boxing fan" than before, well I'll just have to live with that.

If that pair do meet I will be supporting A-Muz no matter what his chances!

Now go and collect all you toys and put them back in your pram.
