FROCH ON CALZAGHE .....OOOH PUT YOUR CLAWS AWAY YOU TWO!
FROCH ON CALZAGHE .....OOOH PUT YOUR CLAWS AWAY YOU TWO!
“I am starting to feel sorry for the Calzaghes,” began Froch.
“Every time they attempt to fend off one of my challenges to them, they leave themselves wide open.
“It is becoming a bit like shooting fish in a barrel.
“Firstly Joe’s dad attempted to price his boy out of the market by asking for £1 million to fight me.
“Now that hasn’t washed, Joe has come out saying that I am miles away from being good enough to fight him.
“Sorry to do this to you Joe; but let’s take a look at your last two opponents.
“We have the all conquering Mger Mkrtchian, ranked at a lofty 34 by the WBC.
“Then lets not forget the outstanding Kabary Salem, who isn’t even ranked by the organisation, yet stretched you 12 rounds.
“Whereas I am ranked 22nd and my next opponent Henry Porras is ranked 11th.
“Its more*like I'm too good. I think it is you Joe who have been fighting nobodies.”
“In my opinion its fighters like you, sitting in the comfort zone and only taking soft touches, that have led to Sky scaling down their boxing coverage.
Froch added: “I don’t think much of your next opponent Mario Veit either; he was bad enough the first time round.
“Where are you going to go after that? It seems you have already lost out on the Lacy fight.
“Like I said last time, all your team do is reel off a series of names: Roy Jones, Bernard Hopkins and Glencoffe Johnson have all been mentioned.
“Nothing ever happens.
“So come on and give the fans what they want to see, a good old world class domestic dust up.
“Me versus you would be an even better fight than Benn vs Eubank I.
“If you’re scared of losing your title, keep it. Lets just have a 12 round International contest.
“In this day and age its not always about the belts, it is more important to make the big fights.
“Nothing is standing in the way of this fight happening, so long as your promoter is reasonable and doesn’t look for options.
“You have an easy fight to get through.
“I have a much tougher proposition in Porras, but I am going to do a number on him.
“Lets do it: winner meets winner.
“This isn’t about the publicity, why would I want to get that off the back of you Joe – in my opinion all you get is bad publicity or a mention in the South Wales Argus.
“I genuinely want this fight.”
The Cobra added: “Joe, you say you would smash me. So why then don’t you stop talking rubbish and walk the walk?
“You say my hands are down, you’re right they are - that’s the way I fight. But you are wrong about my chin being in the air. Why don’t you come try and catch it?
“And at least I don’t slap and tickle.
“Once my combinations start landing on your kisser, you are getting KO’d.”

No way this fight happens. I dont think Froch is quite ready to be honest but could well spring a surprise.
Calzaghe has nothing to gain from it though if he wins he's beaten a 15 fight novice, if he loses he's ruined. Really dont see him making the fight with that in mind.

The current pope defected from the German army because he wanted no part of it, and was taken in by the Americans....DavidPayne wrote:I'm not sure its fair to hold up the pope as some sort of beacon of sanctity and purity, given he wore brown shorts in WW2 is it?jamesmcdonnell wrote:I think there's more chance of John Lesllie becoming pope during his lifetime than this fight being made.

It's also a well known fact that Pope Pious refused to denounce the Nazi's during the 2nd world war, and refused to offer sanctuary to the Jews of Italy instead allowing them to be deported to the death camps. Some fornicating piety!
The Catholic church is full of shit, and so is the pope, and I was raised a catholic before anyone says anything.
i think most religion is but thats my choice, its not hjust catholocism.
where there is blind belief there are people ready to be exploited.
sad but true been going on for thousands of years.
as you can tell i tm not the type for hifdden meaning and too much symbolism, it is what it is, is my motto.
bugger me this place is getting a bit philisophicial aint it.
back to froch slating JC, i must admit i did have a chuckle when i read that.
JC would spank him right now though, too much left in the tank but its warming up nicely for 18 months time.
for my part i think that JC gets correct criticism for his level of opponents but far too much criticism about his skills.
he is still up there for me.

The depressing thing is that you get the feeling Froch feels like he can say what he wants in the knowledge Calzageh isn't going to fight him, what has the boxing world come to.
If Froch beats Pores then he should be in with a good shout for the fight because Pores is the WBO NO. 10. Do you think the WBO would rank froch if he wins that one?

Some good points made by Froch.
Calzaghe doesn`t get much good publicity if any in the papers and most of what I do hear about him are very bad local rumours about him that don`t seem to have been picked up by the press yet.
But Froch has yet to fight anybody serious as yet, so he is very much unproven to us.
I think Calzaghe should give him a fight, its a much better match-up than the proposed Magee fight, I do not see the Lacy fight coming off and Kessler isn`t really well known enough quite yet.

Well, Kessler does have a belt, but that match has been poo-pooed already, Lacy is there and prepared to travel, so no real excuses there except the usual injury/money not right line.
I get the sneaking suspicion that Calzaghe is more interested in retiring undefeated and making squillions of WBO defences than anything else.

It does if you read it. And I know Pontiff and Pope are the same thing essentially......Loftgroov wrote:The Pontiff is the Pope. ..so that doesn't quite make sense..DavidPayne wrote:Whats the story behind the pontif who topped himself on reading scriptures only the residing pope is allowed to view.
