no one raves about these fights, despite involving hall of famers in gruelling battles.

i'll have to rewatch it some time, don't recall much of the fight at all, apart from Lopez trying to box with Mitchell and getting quietly outworked

it was really good - great technique, brisk pace, back and forth action. one of my faves. the rematch was won easily by mitchell, though.

veeraphol sahaprom v hozumi hasegawa 1 - very intense.

and at a much lower level, lovemore n'dou v naoufel ben rabah, a seriously intense light welterweight title fight.

i really like mahyar monshipour v julio zarate. all out warfare. but i think with zarate being pulled out between rounds, it lacked the dramatic ending.

poonsawat v cordoba is absolute class, extremely close and very tough. how many non title fights are this good? a true, worthy world title eliminator. i believe the british ref who worked the fight was very impressed.

u just couldnt split them. also, i think Brodie vs Injin Chi 1 was a belter. I think it was just after Gomez vs Arthur and got overlooked.

Actually, Gomez vs Johansson was a little war while it lasted, the shell of Gomez giving absolutely everything.

Woods vs Johnson 3 was a great battle and personal triumph for Clinton.

We could be here all day really..... Joe C Vs Robin Reid.

Eubank vs Thompson, or as an earlier poster put, basically any of Carls fights. So underappreciated that fella.

gomez v johanesson is the best fight i've seen from doncaster. after that i'd have to give woodhouse v steffy bull major props.

andries v harding are great fights. i thought they were pretty well rated. certainly the rivalry is rated higher tha the fighters themselves. i prefer the 2nd fight, as andries was in massive trouble, went all-out and accomplished the seemingly impossible: pretty much nailing harding to the canvas.

andries should have got the decision in that 3rd fight, but it was a tremendous fight. oddly, at least to me, it's the first fight that seems to make the "classics" list, i.e. harding, well behind, scores late KO on fatigued andries. obviously the judges were scoring it for andries, but i felt that too was a very close fight.

another "home robbery" i love is billy hardy-orlando canizales 1. hardy fell behind with the knockdown but it was close all the way and i felt he dominated the final third in exciting exchanges. few ppl discuss this as a great fight, but it was really good - especially for showing a brit stepping up in class and showing his absolute best, and then some. canizales, not for the first/last time, got a bit lucky. but he certainly nailed hardy in their sweltering, tough, but less competitive rematch.

Billy Corocoran vs Carl Johannsson - for as long as it lasted what a belter. Corcoran through everything but the kitchen sink at Carl in a "suicidal" tactic... He needed that kitchen sink also.

It's gets mentioned for the controvesy... I don't see it - But Hunt vs Meager is one I will not forget in a hurry.
