Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
I don't know why but I thought Murat had 19 ko's not 13. He's not as dangerous as I thought.
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
I saw Konency becoming the bigger favorite. His odds at the beggining were listed at 5/6, but by the end of the fight they were 1/6Dirk Kelly wrote:Hall retires. Been in some great fights. Fair play to him recognising he was out of his depth. What the hell was going on with the betting between rounds, every round hall became more and mote the favourite!!

Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Murat's decent, but I think it's Cleverly's fight to lose. I saw Murat sparring Kessler and he looked OK, but not special.lefty wrote:I wouldnt count murat out though! He boxes very much like arthur abraham! He's got some power too!If it goes over 12 then i see cleverly winning a clear decision but if it gets stopped early i can see murat doing the stopping!Asterix wrote:Yeah, like I said in another topic, I think Frenkel has the best chance. I think the odds are against both Frenkel and Murat winning, though obviously both have a decent chance on paper.crusader wrote:If one of them wins it will be Frenkel.

Will any fight go the distance?
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
The pre-fight 21/10 odds for a Konecny stoppage were a gift.crusader wrote:I saw Konency becoming the bigger favorite. Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
That brancalion who Nathan fought in his last fight was pretty awful i think to be honest!
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Not much talent in the Light Middleweight division domestically - its quite bare in terms of depth.whicker wrote:Not sure where else he can go, other than the "opponent route."Srebmun wrote:Hall retires :(
Rhodes will be looking at EBU or world level fights - Small is probably out of the picture now, McDonagh has retired. There isn't much to challenge Webb.
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
I think Clev will win on points. Scores something along the lines of 116-112. Very impressive if he stops Murat. Murat looks pretty tough.
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
with konekny and hall, i felt too many were hyping it as a potential classic due to how similar they were in build and aggression. well, what appealed to me about konekny and rhodes was the contrast in style, size, power, workrate. i felt the contrasts would have made it an outstanding fight, and i was gutted when rhodes pulled out. more gutted than when barker pulled out of the macklin bout.
as we saw, konekny knew far too much for hall. good fighter to watch and his war with dzinziruk is probably one of my fave light middleweight fights.

Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Prior to fighting Clev he was knocked out in 83 seconds by Brahmer. Decent opponent, but really not that great. Murat is a lot better.lefty wrote:That brancalion who Nathan fought in his last fight was pretty awful i think to be honest!
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Also, though, if he is happy to go abroad as an opponent, I'm sure he would be in demand- and he always has his punchers chance.stujones wrote:Not much talent in the Light Middleweight division domestically - its quite bare in terms of depth.whicker wrote:Not sure where else he can go, other than the "opponent route."Srebmun wrote:Hall retires :(

Yeah i can see where you're coming from,Murat has a mean left hook on him though!Ive watched about 3 or 4 fights of his and he wont be a pushover! If you look at his record he beat gabriel campillo who beat hugo hernan garay and beibut shemenov so he's no pushover!Asterix wrote:Murat's decent, but I think it's Cleverly's fight to lose. Don't think Rhodes would win! Who knows what's happening with Rhodes he could be going nowhere as not sure the future of hatton promotions.whicker wrote:Rhodes would have done better, thats true. Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Yep, I agree with you. I hope Cleverly fights cleverly.lefty wrote:Yeah i can see where you're coming from,Murat has a mean left hook on him though!Ive watched about 3 or 4 fights of his and he wont be a pushover! If you look at his record he beat gabriel campillo who beat hugo hernan garay and beibut shemenov so he's no pushover!
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
i hope hall dont pack it in, the guy knew too much for him like katsidis against mitchell imo. he can win a british & farnell knows why rhodes pulled out now.
Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
Aye I know, always sad to see a man admit he's had his day. Best of luck to him in whatever he does.whicker wrote:Not sure where else he can go, other than the "opponent route."Srebmun wrote:Hall retires :(

Re: Magnificent Seven PBP/Discussion
i think cleverley's composure is poor as he see's red & against a heavy handed compact seasoned pro like murat he may well come unstuck, i fancy clev but like watt said far from the polished performer.
